Harriman's Herbal ("A million Mexican's drink it").

Itinary for Christmas Eve 2005.

9am
Get up after spending the night watching old M.R.James ghost stories on BBC4 and not sleeping because of it.
("Whistle and I'll Come to You" (1968) made by the BBC is my newly discovered most fav chiller masterpiece this year.)

10am
Wrap presents.
- Dad - Indiana Jones and the Emporer's Tomb PS2 game, (to tide him over till Lara Croft comes back next year) + wireless PS2 controller
- Mum - Electric carving knife she wanted for ages and box of smellies she doesn't know she wants yet.
- Sister and I have mutually agreed not to bother with each other. Typical Generation W kids (for 'Whatever').
- The Lovely Nat - she'll have to wait and see.

11am
Buy hat. I am getting really fucking anal about this. I just can't find one I like. Even the one I lost in London was too baggy. Is it so much to ask? All I want is a thick black hat that allows me to hide my hair under and doesn't make my head look pointy like a rubber teat or square like a box of biscuits and that covers my ears, not just the top of my head like a Jewish skull cap or Fryer Tuck's bald spot. www.hatsfordan.com, perhaps?

12pm
Leave for work. If you can call this work. Am being paid to go to Bishops Lydeard station on the restored and now exclusively steam railway between Minehead and Taunton and film Santa on his Santa Special steam train (and the kids going to meet him) for a promo film about the West Somerset Railway ad the services they provide. see pic

2pm
Eat lots of mince pies, I hope. If not, call in to garage in Williton and buy some. Meet Father Christmas at his amazing winter wonderland grotto. In Williton. Interview Father Christmas and get his reaction to the chuffing train.

4pm
Turn around and come back, filming on the footplate of the train (I have permission to do this) so I'll be hanging out of the front engine with camera filming wheels going chuff chuff at 50+mph with my memories of Mrs Froy, Cybil Shepherd and Elliot Gould doing the same (am I blasphemous for prefering the 1979 Hammer remake? Sorry Hitch). Rejoice I bought a hat. Probably lose it doing the filming as I did sticking head out of camper van to film over the severn bridge on first Hoggin the Bridge shoot. Get amazing winter sunset as train steams up hill (I hope).

5.30pm
Get in car, go home, have christmas. Watch Mutiny on the Buses on BBC1.

Sounds like a plan.
