Things along the way...
I had a really good week, with a good weekend to wrap it up.
I decided a while back to look at each of my trips as a new adventure - what will I find on this adventure-never seen before (at least by me). I also have a thing about talking to myself when I have to drive on a trip. Sometimes I just need a break from music, talk shows, and commercials.
On my latest adventure I came across several things that amused me. One for example was an itty bitty town called Mahned. In and of itself, nothing to it. But for some reason - Mahned struck me funny. So, as I’m driving down the road I began a Top Ten List of “Ways to Use the Word Mahned”. I had my ten, and then some. Number 1 way to use the word Mahned…. “Mahned hurts…..” I know, I know - you had to be there. Then I decided that if I ever have another child (which by the way is next to impossible and highly unlikely)…. I’d be one of those people that name their child something crazy…. Mahned.
Next, the TV station I watched every morning was WDAM. Yes, I found it amusing and giggled like a little school girl every time they used their call letters…. “You’re watching WDAM this morning”…. *giggle-giggle*… Personally, I would always sing it. W-D-A-M….Wah-damn… “Hey, Mahned-go turn on that TV and let’s see what’s on the Wah-damn this morning”….
Last, and certainly not least - I saw a dead pig in the middle of the road. There it was - belly up right in the middle of the road. “Ah, poor thing” I thought. But here’s the fun part. It was gone when I came back down that road. And yes….My mind immediately goes there…… a visualization of Uncle Jed, Jethro and Granny coming to a screeching halt after seeing it - and with shovel in hand scooping up little Porky to take home to the kin folk for supper…. Couldn’t help it….that’s the first thing I thought.
