Jeanne scrambled around the room of Lyserg Diethel, looking through cabinets for this and that. Occasionally she would wander into his bathroom and return with a few jars and vials, before placing those at his bedside table. All the while, the same look of worry did not leave her features.

Lyserg Diethel himself, however, could do nothing more than sit up in his bed and watch her scurry back and forth. As amusing as it was, he constantly cautioned her to watch her pace and that there was really no need to worry. But it seemed that his own body betrayed him as he coughed.

This caused her to pause in her motions and approach himself, setting herself on a chair that she had set beside his bed, "Oh! Lyserg, are you all right? Do you need anything? Tissue? Medicine? Food? Water?"

He chuckled and shook his head. The rest of the X-LAWS were out and Lyserg had fallen ill. Jeanne refused to leave when she heard and convinced Marco to allow her to stay, to look over Lyserg. As kind as the gesture was, Lyserg was beginning to wonder if it would've been simpler if she went with the rest of the team.

"I don’t need anything, Lady Jeanne. Thank you very much," he gave her a genuine smile then. Although the dubious look that she had told him that she probably wouldn't believe anything he said that day.

"If you insist, Lyserg. But do not hesitate to tell me if you need anything. I… am out of practice when it comes to caring for the ill, but I have no intention of leaving you on your own," she remained firm in her beliefs and her desire to care for him. Although, that desire was exactly what confused him so deeply.

"Well," he began, and that was enough to catch her interest, "I wouldn't say that I need this… but why are you so insistent on nursing me back to health, Lady Jeanne?"

She hesitated at the question before smiling, "I can't help but that think… that we were very much alike. Marco knows about your past, and so do I. But while your parents left you, you strived on your own. I had Marco to take care of me. And… I'd wondered for a while, what happened when you got sick?"

He raised an eyebrow. His superior's mind drifted to the oddest of subjects sometimes, but he couldn't really be surprised, considering her age. "When I… got sick?"

She nodded, "Yes! Whenever I fell ill, Marco would nurse me back to health. Luchist did too, before he left. And well… I felt so guilty, thinking about what you must have had to deal with the sickness for yourself. Even the most benign of diseases can have terrible affects on your health, after all."

Again, he couldn't suppress his laughter, until it sent him into a fit of coughs. All the while, she seemed utterly worried and confused. Clearly she wasn't suited to this task.

"Lady Jeanne… Please do not worry so much. I'm sure that under your care, I'll be all healthy by tomorrow," he smiled at her once more.

Nodding, she graced him with a smile, "Yes. I do hope so. You will not have to endure alone, Lyserg."
