It was quite a busy week for me, but it's worth it. I finally bought my costume for the Halloween Party I was scheduled to attend this coming October 28th. I heard about a sale and I saved for it. Luckily, I got the last set when I got into the store last Friday after work. Frederick's of Hollywood store was packed with women with their waiting boyfriends. The fitting room had a long line. Fifty percent off was something serious, ya know. (hahaha) Obviously, I just had to wait too because I really wanted to get the sexy costume. Let me share you the picture I borrowed from their website. (Please note that I'm kind of triple the size of the model...hahaha...oh hey, I bought a regular large size and not plus okay... harharhar):
(Back home in the Philippines, we don't really celebrate Halloween. People don't go out walking around the neighborhood and knock on every house's door for "Trick or Treat" to get candies or goodies. It may be a school activity but not a neighborhood event.) So, that's what I planned on wearing for this year's Halloween. My very first costume. In the past, I've only worn my medical scrubs which I normally use during massage sessions. I would bring with me a doll and a stethoscope and VOILA! It's a costume! HAHAHA. This time I wanted it to be sexier and that's why I picked that stretched leather. Woohoo! (There's no whips and chains... what's up with that??? Oh wait, it's not a Dominatrix's costume. hehehe.) The only thing I would wish on Halloween Party Day = a very cold weather! (Geez, just imagine wearing leather! It looks hot, but it's HELLA HOT!!! hahaha) Anyway, so that's the Bat Girl Costume... I wonder where's my sexy hot hunk Bat Man at?????
Aside from the costume accomplishment, I have also accomplished changing my car's ceramic disc brake pads with the help of my close friend Amy's boyfriend. (Thanks a lot Amy and Tim! I do believe in angels, ya know.) I drove around 80 miles today to test the new brake pads and it's all great.
I was on my way home when I decided to make a stop at the nail salon. I thought of having my nails done since I only do it when there's a party (that's next Saturday!). Aside from that reason, it was just good to treat myself once in a while. I needed to relax and I owe it to myself.
When I came inside the salon, the pedicure chairs were really inviting...
The place was bustling, but I was attended to right away. I relaxed at the pedicure chair, having my back massaged by the built-in Shiatsu machine while my feet were soaked and getting pampered. I enjoyed listening to the new songs I have downloaded to my iPod too (instead of listening to the differentn Asian languages talking around me...hehehe). Oh gawd, it was good having my feet and legs massaged. I could've fallen asleep but my hands were also attended right away. (I took some pics from the internet just to let you see how good it feels to get a pedicure and manicure. I didn't want to take pics at the salon because my hands were unavailable. hehehe.)
My feet were soaked in a lukewarm-to-hot water mini-foot-bath-tub. It was just the best de-stressing method ever.
(I'm not really ticklish when it comes to other people giving me a pedicure, but I guess I'm just too good with controlling laughing out loud or worst screaming frantically. hahaha.)
I would say that the best thing ever invented was the foot massage. I could sleep while in a middle of one!
The only thing I didn't like about the nail salon was the smell of the nail powder. Seriously, when I was in my hometown, I never imagined nails can be fake. HAHAHA. I've always had my own natural nail with polish. No gel, no acryllic powder. However, having the fake ones really helps a lot when it comes to opening canned soda. And to think that they have different colors and designs, WOW! (HAHAHA)
After that very relaxing hand and feet massage, I just went straight home and relaxed some more. Having only one day was not enough. But seeing I've treated myself with something good and that I've accomplished fixing my baby (the car)... it was the best thing.
I did like the results of my nails too. They have this new silver powder tips which I tried. Hopefully, it won't be a bother when it comes to typing at work. HEHEHE.
