PRIMAL SCREAMS JUST AREN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE...

Today has been an excellent exercise in the "Murphy's Law, Frank's Amendment" department.

Everything went to hell at work today -- all servers went down due to our carrier "changing the rules" without warning us... on the same morning that one of our key contract prospects is trying to reach us to ask some final questions re: the proposal we submitted.

And the fax machine was acting up, so it took them six attempts to send us the info. And all our other hosting customers were also acting up, upon discovering their websites and mail services were down.

And I wasn't at work to discuss ANY of this with the prospective contract client over the phone, since I was somewhere else for a job interview at the time. And the client needed the questions anwered in detail by 3pm today.

My boss had to come pick me up at home as soon as I walked in the door, and by the time we got here, I had only 3 hours to write up a professional 12-page info document that had to include screenshots and clear examples and etc etc...

And we had to send the document by email. Despite having no company email server up.

...

YEAH.

...

But you know what? By the skin of our teeth, it got done. We even figured a way to send the email properly.

And somehow... despite all these possible things that could have and did go wrong (and other stuff that went wrong with this contract process in the last two weeks through no fault of our own), I still landed the contract.

I am so stressed right now, yet immensely relieved.

I need a beer, stat.

Screw that. I need a KEG.
