Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron to prove god on May 5th, 2007.

So it turns out Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron have challenged the makers of the Blasphemy Challenge to a debate regarding the existence of god. According to Ray, they will "prove God's existence, absolutely, scientifically, without mentioning the Bible or faith."

Now, I am familiar with these two guys, and I am really looking forward to which arguments they choose to use. Having seen all of The Way of the Master produced by them, I am fairly sure that if the Rational Response Squad is at all competent, this will be less of a debate and more of a spectacle. Of course, editing and such can change all that, but nevertheless, I highly doubt Mr. Comfort's ability to prove his own existence without a bible let alone god, or more specifically, his god.

If you are unframiliar, Kirk Cameron (dude from Growing Pains) was an atheist as a kid then became an evangelical and teamed up with super Christian Ray Comfort to proselytize everything they see. They're generally well meaning, since they really do seem to believe we're all going to hell, but they're also really pretty wrong. For an example of what sort of fun we should hope to expect, watch the episode of their program on evolution and openly mock it with a friend or two. I figure that's what the debate will go down as. An example of their arguments include "God must exist and have designed it all because the grooves on the side of a closed fist seem to match up to a banana." True story.
