Do any of you NY-types care that Lifetime is playing at the Bowery Ballroom on July 8th?

Also, decided yesterday that "beffys" is the best word ever. I'm gonna start trying to drop it into casual conversation. Considering that I've recently begun using "totes", I think my hipster friends might have me institutionalized.

come to a show, lifetime, general yay

Ah, but do you use "whatevs" yet?

I use "whatev" religiously.

I cannot bring myself to "totes". I wonder if it will be that way in August? Oh, my face is not as red as it should be.

I use "totes" in writing but not speaking, and I don't yet use "beffys". "Whatev" I only use occasionally, and exclusively in writing.

Let's see how long that lasts.

I use whatev, and "totes" has been slipping in of late. Unfortunately, I have very little call for "beffys".

"Totes" is short for totally.

As in, "Man, Pete is totes emo lately."

'Totes' sounds like tote bag. So whenever anyone says it I'm like .. WHUT?

Oh, but see, totes is okay as long as you do it in a tone of voice that indicates irony.

We should go see Lifetime, if only to play spot-the-hipster. ;)

a tone of voice that indicates irony

Or self-depreciation, indicating that you realize how ridiculous you sound using the term 'totes'.

I cannot go see Lifetime, as I will be very busy hoping I don't accidentally bump into a Way that weekend. Also, you are in the city, yes? I must track you down so we can do something suitably fannish, like watch B-Side. (Also, you got my email about next weekend, yes?)

A Way? Where?

And I am oh-so-close to the city; as of 1 June, I'll be living downtown. I have seen B-Side, but I'm saving RtB. I don't think I could watch it alone. (Yes, am checking le calendar!)
