New Acoustic Guitar
Since I've progressed in music and we've gotten a gig (which may lead to another gig and another and so on)....I've decided to upgrade my guitar situation. Originally I had planned to save extra money for a few months and get a Gibson Hummingbird. I've always wanted one but I knew it was going to be a bit of a stretch. Currently they are selling new for about $3,000 and it's not very common to find one with a pick up already in it. In fact I haven't seen one in the store with a pick up already in yet, so that is an extra couple of hundred dollars to get one put in.
Because it's quite a large purchase I wanted to try a few on Saturday. I have tried Hummingbirds before but not for awhile and I was going in with my mind focused on specific things. I went to 2 different Long & McQuades and tried 2 different Hummingbirds and a Gibson J45 and for some reason neither of the Hummingbirds felt right for me and the J45 didn't have the sound that I'm looking for.
Then I picked up a nice Larrivée LV-03 and that was it. THAT'S THE ONE!
I tried a bunch of different guitars from Martins to Gibsons to Taylors to Guilds and that LV-03 is the one. I'm hoping they don't sell it this week cuz I want to get it next weekend.
It's a bonus that it's half the price of the Hummingbird too!
