It's my boyfriend's birthday today and he absolutely loves chinese buffet, but hasn't found one here since he moved. I'm hoping to find one to take him to for his birthday... any of you know of any great chinese buffets, preferable in SE? (or in Tigard.. random, I know, but it's where I live and we could always head that direction if we had to. ( Read more... )

I actually think this place is pretty darned good, though by no means "OMG Authentic!" But for Chinese buffet, authetic isn't usually the main objective. (I believe that technically the main objective is NOODLES.)

South side of 99W between Hall and Main St. Can't remember the name but it probably has the word Panda in it.

If that's the reincarnation of China Smorgi, I would rather eat rancid room temperature yogurt soup with meat dumplings in it than go there.

There's a ton of these in Gresham!
All you can eat at China Garden next to Wild Oats is like Todai made cheap! They have chinese plus sushi and it's 10 bucks. Plus, the birthday meal is free!!!
Also, there's one that's my local favorite for the greasy buffet which is right next to BiMart on ...shoot...forgetting the street name..Hogan I think? If you go on i84 to the Wood Village exit, like as though you were going to Edgefield, and then just keep going on up the hill and straight instead of turning onto Halsey to go to Edgefield, it'll be up across from Stark on the left in the shopping center right near the BiMart. It's like Happy Buffet or something.

those are usually panda express, which are good mall-chinese but somehow different from a "restaurant restaurant" that is a buffet. if that makes sense. which it probably doesn't. :P

I think it depends on which Panda Express. It seems some are decent and some are disgusting.

YMMV, of course.

There are a couple of Chinese all you can eat buffets on 82nd in SE. There's Grand Buffet, over by Eastport Plaza. And then there's.... King Buffet, Supreme Buffet...something like that. I can't remember the name, but it's where Organ Grinder Pizza used to be. A little north of Foster.

I really miss the Organ Grinder... we used to have such fun there when I was a kid. I haven't thought about that place in ages.
