Me: "Oi! You with the mohawk!"
Kid with tiny one inch high mohawk and Hollister shirt: "Yo?"
Me: "Tell me what 'Nihilism' means.
Kid: "What?"
Me: "Define nihilism."
Kid: "I have no idea what that means."
Me: "Shave your head."
I have this conversation roughly 3 times a day each Saturday and Sunday. Other good answers have included gems like, "is that something from Communism?" and "I used to be punk; mohawks aren't punk rock anymore anyway," (from a guy who couldn't answer) to which I responded, "that's true, and it's also the fault of people like YOU, sir. Congratulations on helping to pound nails in the coffin of something meaningful."
In 7 weekends, exactly one kid with a mohawk (out of an average of three I ask each weekend day) has managed, "the belief in nothing?" as an answer. I'm thinking he probably just saw "The Big Lebowski," but I told him he could keep his hair and his CBGB's shirt.
