For a really long time, I've been wanting to learn to skateboard. A few of my friends have tried to teach me over the years, but I've never gotten as far as being able to stand on a skateboard without being pretty wobbly.
Kristin has mentioned that she could teach me a little bit, but I was scared. Tonight, though, after
Trey's success with her as a teacher last night (he was going on his own all over the place after 10 minutes, I'm told), I got brave and went out to the park with
Kristin and Dean to learn.
OMG I CAN RIDE A SKATEBOARD NOW!!! *GLEE*
Well, at least a little bit. I can stand on it, I can go straight, I can turn a little bit, at least enough not to hit things if I'm not going too fast.
Look: pictures!
I did fuck myself up in the end, though. My foot was too far back at the very wrong time, because the board caught on something and I took a header into the ground. That's cool, though, I don't have enough cool scars. I hurt my mouse-hand, though. :(
And
Kristin says I really was doing good until that, so as soon as my bloody parts stop stinging, I'm going back out to practice more.
