here is a land full of power and glory

So, Al Gore will not run in 2004. I have mixed feelings. Gore has a special place in my heart, because the 2000 (s)election was the first nation election that I followed with any enthusiasm at all. He's so friggin' smart that I really wanted to see Gore in office. His intelligence doesn't mean he would have been great, but at least he would have had a head start. I, unlike the rest of the public, did not find Gore dull. I thought he was so interesting and would LOVE to get inside his head.

On the other hand, he would have lost. (even though he did not technically lose the last election. First of all, the Bush v. Gore case shouldn't have gone to the supreme court because there was no federal jurisdiction. Also, Bush shouldn't have been able to sue, it should have had to have been a Florida voter. Then there's the whole case of the majority of Flordians voting for Al Gore. Remember when reporters went down and hand counted every florida ballot under the freedom of imformation act or some such nonsense? Yeah, GORE WON. anyway...)

Yeah. So I hate the world right now. I'm just gonna jump inside my tv and live in the land of the West Wing. It's much less depressing. Maybe I'll watch the War Room. Again. James Carville is funny. Or maybe I'll look up more about Edwards and see if I could get behind him.

Or maybe I'll work on my paper and read. Shyeah, right.
