Of sorts. And it's not by choice, let me tell you. I was studying in the library at school, and my tea decided that it wanted to give my laptop a bath. Now it won't turn on, so I'm pretty sure it's fried. I'm looking into a Gateway NV53 laptop on ebay (the same kind my tea killed) so I can just try to transfer the important stuff over and get up and running again. So if anyone has one or knows someone who has one that works and wants it off their hands....
Until then, I won't be doing much posting, if at all. My big bang is probably going to be written out long hand (OH MY GOD MY HAND'S GONNA DIE), but my friend Sarah is letting me use an old laptop of hers the she doesn't use because of a cracked screen. Come January, I'll have the money to get a new laptop, probably a Mac, but I don't have it right now. Thus is the life of a poor college student. I'm trying really hard to cheer up from this, but I spent most of yesterday in a funk. Well, we'll see how this goes. Um...
Anyway! I'm trying to look at the silver lining and be happy that it happened after I turned in my English paper. That's a very small silver lining, though. I had WIPs in that hard drive that I'm not sure got backed up. My pictures, movies, and music, and documents (most of them) are backed up on my external hard drive, and I opened up my laptop to check how bad it was. I was pleasantly surprised to note that the memory and hard drive seemed intact, so here's hoping they're okay.
Like I said, if anyone knows someone who has a Gateway NV53 laptop (that works) that they don't want, let me know so I can contact them. *hugs and kisses everyone*
