Reports/Concerns Post

May 05, 2008 20:53

If you have valid concerns about any events/actions/players in the RP who have inarguably broken one or more of the rules, this is the post in which you should let us know. Any comments not made by personal/character journals of current players will be ignored and deleted.

Also keep in mind that before you use this post, you must talk problems out with other players and try to resolve issues yourself before you report them. (Of course, if you aren't part of a situation and you see something happen as an observer, let us know rather than trying to police things yourself.)

ANONYMOUS COMMENTS ARE DISABLED. ALL COMMENTS WILL BE SCREENED.
NO WANK! This is not a post for pure complaints. This is a post in which you try to help us mods by alerting us to broken rules when rules are broken. If you comment here and either lie about events or grossly misconstrue facts in your favor, you will be severely penalized. Same goes if you repeatedly post with frivolous claims.

Valid concerns include:

• Broken Rules
• Godmodding
• Writing Quality
• Characterization
• Plagiarism
• Inactivity
• Wank/Rudeness/Badmouthing (Lounge, Official Chat)

In all of the above cases, you must provide irrefutable evidence of your claims. (Link to thread(s), official chat logs, archived pages, etc.)

For OOC Characterization, you cannot use your own interpretation of the canon as an argument. You must show a trend of inarguable OOCness as proven by contradictory evidence directly from the canon.

For godmodding, keep in mind that it includes:

- overuse/abuse of powers or abilities
- dictating another character's actions/thoughts/limitations without the player's permission
- taking long strings of actions without allowing other characters to respond
- dictating too much action by NPCs without contacting an NPC mod
- dictating a character's travel limitations during Nightshift without the player's permission
- traveling unreasonably fast during Nightshift
- using/referring to OOC information in an IC post (a character somehow responding to another character's private thoughts, sensing a character's intentions unreasonably well, etc.)

and anything else where a player is having their character do something unreasonable without player and/or mod permission.

What we will do if you comment here:

• We will absolutely not reveal your identity to anyone outside of the three head mods unless you give us your express permission.

• We will carefully read your comment and look over the evidence provided.
• We will decide on our own whether or not we objectively feel that your concern is warranted.

• If we disagree with your concerns, we will let you know and give a brief explanation why. You may not petition us further about it unless a new incident occurs that follows the same trend. (We might tell you that the infraction is not enough to pursue at the moment, but to alert us should the same problems continue.)

• If we agree with your concerns, we will pursue the matter to the best of our ability. This includes speaking with you personally for more information, contacting the player/mod who has broken the rules, and trying to resolve the matter. We will decide on the appropriate kind of penalization depending on the seriousness and longevity of the problem. (For example, if it turns out someone is new and broke the rules because of an honest misunderstanding, they'd only get a friendly warning. However, if someone is an experienced player and still breaks the rules, they'd most likely get a strike.)

Penalizations for Major Infractions:

Major infractions include: godmodding, major writing issues, major characterization issues, inactivity, and rudeness/badmouthing/wank towards other players in the Lounge or damnedooc chat. Minor infractions will earn a warning (possibly with a strike attached, if bordering on serious).

• First offense, one week IRL suspension from the game. (If inactivity, first warning.)
• Second offense, two week IRL suspension from the game. (If inactivity, second warning.)
• Third offense, ejection from the RP.
- The ejection is permanent unless a current player advocates for you to be given a second chance. In that case, you must re-apply for your character during the regular app period.
- If you break the rules once after that point, you are ejected permanently.

The strikes are collective, so if you're, say, inactive and then godmod, it counts as two strikes overall. If you have multiple characters and your problems center around only one of your characters (inactivity, characterization, etc.), we will only eject that one character, not you as a player.
