Language Laws at Landel's

It's been asked. It's been questioned. It's been a confusing topic for mods and players alike, but finally, we have here the rules about just how languages work at Landel's.

BARE BASICS:- Everyone can understand each others' main languages. A character whose main language is English would perceive someone whose main language is Japanese as

So Signum's native language is Belkan which is basically space-German, and in her canon she splits more or less evenly between Japanese when in Japan and Midchildan which is basically space-English when on Midchilda...

Argh.

Yeah, if Skuld gets in I don't have it much better. XD Native language is probably whatever the Almighty speaks to them in, second is presumably Norse but as far as I can tell we never see her speak it, obviously she's very fluent in Japanese (which is getting claimed as her main language, just to be somewhat consistent!), and logically she should at least speak Latin, Greek, and probably a few others as well...

At least considering her canon, I can pretty much treat all her abilities as software upgrades!

Okies, I think I understand all the laws, I just have a question! Where exactly do we need to state the character's primary language? Is there going to be a post like with P-Head and the rest that we have to fill out with this info or should we just list it on our LJ in the character's profile information? Thanks for taking the time to explain all that ^^;

Good question! We were thinking, for starters, that we'd start having everyone state their characters' main & second languages in their characters' userinfos. Otherwise, we'll probably have people start telling us briefly about a character's languages in the app, and we also might start listing it in the Patients list or something. :X
