I believe this is what upsets me most about tarot. The past and present are always correct but the future never makes sense. I think it's because when you think about your past or present and the spread in front of you, you know what the cards are talking about. It's not because the cards are giving you a broad reading like so many believe, it's because you know who the cards are or what event they symbolise.
But odd reading or not,I feel a savageness rising within me. Time is ticking with the beat of my heart. The day, I feel, will come far sooner than expected, yet right on time. The end is drawing near.
The energies of our system will decay, the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which for a moment has disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments'
and 'immortal deeds', death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as
though they had never been.
I have never been more thrilled than to think of this.
