You can still be a citizen of your home country, too. Just think of it as honorary citizenship for as long as you're here. You should be more grateful for this opportunity!

Some people were complaining about the passports in that other declaration. Having everyone be a Prussian citizen, even if it's just honorary, makes things easier all around.
