Consider this a poll conducted out of curiosity, but how many people here were involved in some sort of law enforcement before being brought here? Attorneys, people in the police force, detectives, private investigators, or whatever else might fit into this category. I've noticed that there are a lot of people here who come out of that field. I have to admit I hadn't heard of you until now. Thank you for replying. I think there are a few others around with similar professions, if you were curious.

I am aware; I've met with several of them myself. It is surprising how many of us there are.

Out of curiosity, what did you do before you were admitted?

Then maybe we've met some of the same people.

I was a prosecutor.

I've noticed that myself, but I hadn't realized there were so many others would notice it, too. If that's really the case, I wonder if that means there's a higher likelihood of being committed if one is from those fields.

I'm a prosecutor myself, as a matter of fact.

It's starting to seem like that's the case. Which seems counter-intuitive. Is he asking to be caught?

We seem to be the most common type here.

Or maybe it's more productive to keep us all in here. Less people to worry about on the outside. That or he's simply nursing some sort of vendetta against us.

That does seem to be so. From what I've seen, we're also the type to linger longest. I'm not sure whether that should be considered good or bad.

I'm banking on the vendetta. He has to realize that it'd be dangerous to put too many of us in one place.

Are you sure about that? It looks like some have disappeared. [arrow to this note]

Depends on your definition of involved. If we'd been going after murderers, they'd call us vigilantes. When the murders wear suits and kill by committee, they call us activists. Or duck-squeezing commie pinko terrorists if it's a slow news day.

You're not quite what I meant, but I appreciate the reply either way.

[a few scribbles] You don't wear a costume when you do your vigilante act, do you?

I leave the spandex to the Tour de France wannabes. No superpowers, thank God for rent control, etc.

I didn't say anything about superpowers. That's

But I'm glad to hear that you leave spandex out of the equation. Masks, too, I hope.

Are you suggesting we should hide our affiliations, Mr. Dent?

Not at all. But I suspect that some would refuse to respond if they had to sign their name.

It might be safer to do so. There are all types lingering in these halls, you know. Some of which might consider you a target for announcing things like that. So you may want to take that into consideration before making up names and ranks. It'll only hurt you later.

I didn't realize that was something you could do in your spare time. Thank you for the response, though.

I'm in high school. I consult with the police in particularly difficult cases, or when cases find me.
