Does anyone know where I can get a flashlight? I'm sorry I lost mine two days ago. The hallways are really dark and scary so I can't see or know where I'm going.

P.S. Does anyone know where we can get stronger?

Edit: Another note has been added below. Are there any fighting teachers that are willing to teach weapon combat? I mess up a lot so ( Read more... )

Stronger? If you mean where you can learn how to fight, or where you can go to improve, there's a couple of clubs and a few individuals that can probably help ya out with that. If you mean 'where we can get our powers back', your guess is as good as mine.

Oh, so nobody has gotten a bit of their powers back? That's a shame. I only know how to do long-ranged fighting and that's it. There's not much I can do here though.

Well, you get 'em back when the Institute's bitchminions drag you off so you can get brainwashed, but I kinda doubt that's what you're after. If long-ranged fighting's all you can do right now, why not hook up with somebody who can teach you close combat?

B-brainwashed? nonononno I want to keep my memories
I...don't know anybody that could teach me. I only know a little bit of close combat, but I'm not very good at it. I mess up all the time.

Yup. You really haven't heard of that happening here? The effects only last a night, but it's a pretty big thing.

Y'mean, you don't know any teachers in general, or you don't know anybody who could teach you specifically? 'Cuz there's quite a few people who can teach, or so I've heard. And, hey. I won't say practice makes perfect, but it does make improvement. Usually. Sometimes.

Hopefully?

I only know that they sometimes run experiments on people. There was one person who lost an arm, then got a new one the next day. What happens to the people who are brainwashed?

Both. I haven't met any fighting teachers here. Practice does help improve...for most people I think

It's kind of hard to remember. But in the end, the one who's been brainwashed gets all their powers and items back, and they work for the Institute to attack other patients, thinking that it's all their own choice.

Ask around on the bulletin! Try the Boxing Club, too. They'll be meeting tomorrow, in the Staff Training Area on the second floor. Is it hand-to-hand you're interested in, or weapons-based combat?

That's horrible! I hope that it doesn't happen to me, I don't want to hurt my friends!

Um...I'm interested in weapons-based combat. My fingers would probably break if I tried to punch something hard.

It does kinda suck, yeah.

Well, uh, about that. You probably just need to learn how to punch something properly, that's all.

What about those that have been brainwashed? Do they stay brainwashed forever? Or worse, are they killed after being of use?

I never knew that punching required intense training. It doesn't sound as easy as learning how to shoot a cannon.

Nope. They wake up the next morning, back to normal and able to remember almost everything.

Hey, I never said it required intense training! It's just that there's a trick to it.

It sounds really bad since they're forced to fight their own friends and remember it all. Knowing that you did something horrible to your own friends.

Oh, I see! Kinda like knowing an easy way to remember facts for history tests.

It's kind of what this place is all about. The psychological torture, I mean.

... Yeah! Kinda like that. But you have to know how to apply it practically, not just in theory.

psychological torture The hallways are really scary at night. since you can't see where you're going. Almost like being surrounded by the enemy troops during warfare.

And that's why there are practices! Look, I made an extra note![arrow points to the first post]

...I wonder if anyone would notice...

… Yeah. That bit doesn't bother me much, since I'm used to it; just like I'm used to monsters. Thing you've really gotta do is not fall for heir demoralization campaign. And they're really really good at being demoralizing.

That's the spirit! And if you don't get noticed, get yourself out there - ask club leaders over the bulletin, turn up for the Boxing Club meeting tomorrow night. Stuff like that!
