Considering the extent of his injuries, that likely means you're too wounded to be sent out.

I will give you an assignment only if Kaneyoshi or Hattori believe you can endure it. If either of them deem you too hurt, you will be confined to your room until you can be effectively treated.

Being injured isn't something you can hope to prevent here. Putting yourself needlessly in danger because you try to push your boundaries too soon is.

Or would you rather your friends find your corpse instead of giving yourself time to recover?
