If she were honest, Yukari would have said she had no idea what a "sun room" was supposed to entail. She didn't ask, though, because by the time she had finished asking all the more important questions (which still weren't getting answered in any way that made sense), Yukari was getting rather fed up with all the nonsense her accompanying nurse was

She glanced around for only a moment before answering the question; "No, not really. Did you want to sit?" Although Yukari had to wonder why she picked this particular spot when there were plenty of other empty ones; maybe this area looked the most appealing, or... something. Who knew. It was kind of like asking why someone decided to sit right next to you on the monorail when it wasn't even that crowded in there.
For a second longer, Yukari had almost decided to continue paying the other girl no mind, but it did hit her that she was wearing the same, dull grey uniform she had on, as well (because, honestly, they couldn't have picked a better color for this thing? Not to mention the yellow smiley face was almost embarrassing to look at). If someone from the staff wasn't going to be any help, maybe someone who was-- assumingly-- in her position would be more so. Time to find out.
"Do you mind if I ask you something?" Yukari spoke up again, this time looking a lot more focused on Yuffie's presence than before. "Or maybe a lot of somethings. I don't have a clue what's going on here."

… This was so surreal.
Yuffie supposed that she was just gonna have to get used to it. People left all the time here; there was no helping that. Not unless-not until-they got to Landel, anyway. "Yeah, I thought as much. Just got here today, right? I can tell you most of what you need to know," Yuffie said, bright and easy. "It's a bit of a trip, so, um, just try to-Fuzzbutt!"
Fuzzbutt had squirmed out of Yuffie's careful grip, mewing angelically, and proceeded to reattempt Operation Boobland Exploration. For the fourth time, sheesh. "Try this again, and I'll feed you to an orderly," Yuffie threatened, snaking a hand under her shirt. Unfortunately, Fuzzbutt was getting better at this game, and extraction wasn't gonna be easy.
"Um, Yuka- I mean, hang on a second, okay? Or just…-ow, quit it!-ask me whatever you want. I'm still listening."

... Though, this girl seemed a bit distracted in the meantime. Despite the unknown and completely weird situation she managed to land in, Yukari did manage a chuckle while covering her mouth with a hand in an attempt to stifle it. Given how carefree she was being, Yukari wondered if there was anything to worry about at all.
"Do you two need a moment? I'm sure I could spare a few minutes." Yukari grinned, then immediately waved a hand dismissively. "Okay, okay, joking around aside," her grin fell as she adjusted herself more comfortably on the couch. "Where is this place? Or better yet, what is it? I could have sworn I've never heard of a hospital like this in the area."

The little cat had his claws in good, Yuffie was discovering. Though, fortunately for him, he'd had the sense to go for the cloth of her bra, not her skin. Kittens weren't supposed to be able to fly, but Fuzzbutt would've gotten a crash course-still would, too, if he didn't watch out.
"Alright, so. The where and the what: someplace in America, and a nuthouse called Landel's Institute. By day, the staff'll call you a different name, and claim that everything you've ever known is just a figment of your over-active, totally whacko imagination." She paused for a long moment, both to reconsider her kitten-catching tactics, and to gather her thoughts. "… And, sometimes, people disappear. Get 'released'. And, sometimes, they come back... without their memories of the last time."
Yuffie smiled blandly. "Really gotta watch out for that one. People'll come up to you, knowing who you are, when you don't know them."

Yeah, this was a nuthouse, all right. One full of people who didn't know what the hell they were talking about! Lost memories? America? As if. Yukari had seen strange things in her life and had been through even weirder, but even she could say all of this was completely and utterly out there.
Yukari's frown deepened before she looked off to the side in exasperation, sitting upright. "Nevermind," she muttered, trying to keep annoyance from slipping into her voice. "Look, I'll just find someone else to explain this to me. Sorry for bothering you."

… Ha. Yeah. Way to go, Kisaragi! That had to be a new record for alienation. But, hell, what else was she supposed to say? It wasn't her fault that the other girl couldn't accept the truth, even if the delivery was less than stellar.
"Everybody else'll tell you the same damn thing, Yukari," Yuffie said, dropping some of the bounce and bubble from her tone. She finished pulling Fuzzbutt out of her cleavage, and set the kitten off to the side; immediately, he ambled over to Yukari, adorably ruffled and mewing in greeting. "Not that you won't find out for yourself soon enough. As soon as the lights go out, this place changes."

And she sounded serious-- a lot more so than she had been before-- which, somehow, put Yukari on edge. Everything had went from kind of strange to too strange, and in no longer than a couple of seconds shot up to entirely way too much strange to even feel remotely comfortable anymore. And if anyone had been paying attention, it showed by the way she fidgeted; Yukari just wanted to get out of here.
The kitten had gone mostly unnoticed until it hobbled on over, pawing at her thigh and wanted to climb into her lap. Yukari had allowed it, if only because her attention was more focused elsewhere, but it did somehow manage to ease her by a margin. She was almost kind of thankful there was something else here besides the two of them talking.
"What are you talking about?" Yukari snapped back despite so, and her frown hadn't lessened by any. "How did you-- Cut it out, this isn't funny. Just who the hell are you, anyway?"

It didn't escape her notice that Yukari was uncomfortable. Hell… as little as she wanted to, Yuffie could sympathise. Three weeks ago, she'd been in almost exactly the same situation-almost, because at least Cid had tracked her down super early on. Sure, Kurogane'd gotten there first, but she hadn't had to take his word as fact.
… And where she came from, there was a bit of a precedent for crap like this. Little as Yuffie liked it, she had to admit, it came in handy from time to time.
"Seriously, just… If you don't want my help, that's fine. But if I see you tomorrow and you're missing a limb or whatever, I am gonna say 'I told you so'."
