Well, that put a damper on any swimming plans. Abe could hardly leave L to his fate, he had enough guilt for what had happened to Scarecrow and nobody deserved such tortures. First kidnapped in the middle of the night and 'admitted' to some sort of mental institution, then discovering the last person he ever wanted to confront shamelessly attempting to convince him that all of this was real. Austria had little luck when it came to gathering more information, but that may have been because he barely made the attempt. However, he had the utmost confidence that his government would put an end to this nonsense, and so his patience would be rewarded in due time.
These very thoughts were swarming in his mind as he removed his glasses and settled in for the night, falling asleep long before his potential 'roommate' arrived for dinner.

Blinking, he reached under and pulled the object out, examining the new contraption, surprising himself when he flipped a switch and light immediately poured out. Was it some sort of lantern?
It was at that point that he heard another noise, this time a loud click as if something was being unlocked. Austria raised an eyebrow before moving off the bed and walking towards the door, confusion shifting to surprise when he twisted the knob and found no resistance.
... Well, if this was being done purposely then he had no qualms following, and if it'd been accidental he'd point it out as thus. And so, bracing himself, the nation stepped out into the darkness, pointing the 'lantern' down the hallway before following its light.
