here and waiting for the opposite one.~]The hall was as empty as she had seen it. Silence glistened as severe as any palpable source. Voices echoed in the distance, but here there was nothing. No one. No sounds, but the dull creaks of a settling building and shifting ghosts. Last night gave rise to a new awareness. She did not take the

Aidou had heard enough of the radio people’s riddles to take little stock of whatever might be on the second floor--there had been so many prizes already, coming close to nothing in the end. At least not that he had learned of. And for that, he didn’t let his focus waver from the small silver shield he carried.
Neither Zack nor Sasuke deigned to comment on Marc’s spiel, which was just as well. He, too, was wondering about the image of the first radio personality with one of the Institute’s beasts at his elbow as Zack spoke. The vampire glanced over, eyes flat and shining pale blue. If the nearby commotion disturbed him, it didn’t show in the dark. “It seems likely the man who called himself Jack was a colleague of Landel’s,” replied lowly. Or he still was, present tense, though Aidou didn’t like to reflect long on the zombie variable. Either way, they had known each other and probably shared their secrets with each other. As such, he didn’t care why Jack had never extended his hand to them further; anyone so closely related to Landel wasn’t an ally, as far as he was concerned.

"And how about the new guy? Does he have any connection to Landel?" It was possible that there was no way of telling that yet, seeing how Marc was apparently pretty new to the whole radio gig. Still, Zack figured it was worth asking. If anyone was going to know something like that, it would probably be Aidou.
But as they moved further down the hall, he was suddenly reminded of something. Tifa. He'd told her that she could come along, but now that they had Sasuke she wouldn't have to force herself. Seeing how she was already injured, it was probably best if she didn't.
It didn't take him long to find the girl, and he nodded to her quickly before glancing back to the two boys. "Give me one sec', all right? I need to catch up with a friend and let her know that she isn't needed. I'll meet you guys in front of the Sun Room!" And without even giving the two a chance to respond, he quickly waved and moved over toward Tifa.
It wouldn't be polite to leave a lady waiting, after all.

With the corridor clear, they were well on their way to reaching the Sun Room and whatever might be alive (or otherwise) in there, but before they could even reach the doors, from the side Aidou saw Zack’s attention shift.
Huh? Catch up with a--
His mouth opened, but Zack was already sidling out of range, unless the vampire wanted to shout. Apparently this was the 'friend' the man had brought up as a potential replacement for Sasuke, but! An interruption was an interruption, and Aidou couldn’t help feeling a moment’s displeasure at suddenly being ditched. "What's with that?" he muttered, squinting at the other‘s retreating back. Zack had better have meant just a second.
He found himself hoping nothing would pop up to draw Sasuke away, as well. Like his doctor, Muraki. Or any other Uchihas.
Impatience was something that settled in the bones, being here in a prison like this, and the vampire felt a twinge of it as his thoughts threatened to go down a more dangerous path. Before they could, he said, "Let's go," to Sasuke in a louder voice. There was a difference between being prepared for trials and simply being paranoid of them.
