[From

Teleportation seemed just as likely, but his memory of his arrival was either gone or nonexistent. The fact that he still didn't know how much time had

And now they were within the area where the busses had broken down upon return from Doyleton one night. Remembering the flying creatures that had circled overhead, Recluse glanced up, shielding his eyes against the moonlight.
"There are sometimes large birds that attack in these open areas, but I've been told they only go after virgins," he said to the other two as if this was a perfectly reasonable statement to make, "Unless either of you fall into that category, we may be safe in this area."

Typical. "Then we had better move on." He continued towards the Institute's gates, keeping a watchful eye on the surroundings.

Once Castiel had gone through the door, Izaya waited a few seconds before following. If there were no guards and this was just a normal hospital in a normal city despite the abnormal number of patients roaming around in the dark, it would have been a waste... But if there were guards, he wanted the warning that short time might provide him. When he didn't hear any sounds of alarm, he followed after Castiel.
As he stepped outside, one thing became immediately obvious: wherever they were, it definitely wasn't Tokyo.
He frowned, feeling irritated. Even though the situation he'd found himself in was unfamiliar and he hadn't had anything to work with, he'd been wrong... Even worse, he still didn't know where they were beyond Castiel's vague notion of "in ( ... )

The large hound stayed put. Its tail wagged even as it looked as if one more twitch would send the whole appendage falling onto the concrete.
Despite how close it was too a taste, the animal didn't move. If the patients moved a few steps closer, their flashlights would catch the unnatural glow of a pair of watching eyes, possibly a glimpse of how the only thing containing one of its eyes was bone and a few remnants of tattered skin. And that would be when it would sink its teeth into the nearest surface.

Outside the area seemed the same as it had been weeks ago. The emptiness of the space contrasted with the cold chill it brought. Renamon swung her gaze up automatically, checking the sky and rooftop. "There are birds out here. Large and destructive." And if rumors held, only after one type of prey. No need to spell that out.
The bandage covering her eye was a nuisance in peeling back layers of the night, and she eventually looked back down to continue walking. And wonder. She hadn't seen him for a while. It was a good assumption to consider that things may have changed. "...I haven't seen you for awhile," she started. "How have you been?"

"'m... okay." Man, that brought the mood down fast. He gritted his teeth, glaring back at the building behind them. "Loz just disappeared. I dunno what happened to 'im." He hoped Loz was just somewhere else. Maybe this was like the Digiworld and his friend had just been snatched up by a data stream or something. And while we're wishing, let's say Pineapple Head's grown a brain too.

At the other Digimon's revelation, Renamon glanced over to him. Withheld, as usual, only that action would give her away. Too many she had met here that were now lost. And some that had returned. She could offer that, at least. If there was nothing else to give in comfort. "A few friends of mine vanished, too." More than a few. "Some of them came back. He might, as well."
