She went to her desk, taking out her things, and then she saw it. An oval ring, with a red stone set in the center.
Rika gasped at the sight of it, then recoiled just a bit. Why...why her? They hadn't been that far before they went to Cissnei's world.
This could be a backup, then. A failsafe, in case something went wrong. That made her feel a little better as she gathered the rest of her things and headed out the door.

Not that it could be really be called 'lucky'. If that ring really worked as they were being told, then it would just teleport them two halls away from their rooms. Not exactly useful. But if it could be used to mark another place for teleportation... that would be useful. Landel's vagueness about that subject was extremely suspicious, though.
As she always did, Anise gathered together her nighttime equipment: her meat tenderizer, flashlight, and a rolled-up pillowcase stuffed into the sack on Tokunaga's back. Tokunaga came too, of course.
