Day 23: Game Room, Evening Shift.

Fayt had been doing.. something. For some time, apparently, as he came in during the children shower scenes. Being over the age (yes, despite how he looked), he wasn’t sent there, meaning he had three options. Music Room. Game Room, and Sun Room ( Read more... )

Captain Jack was a little disappointed that lunch had ended so soon; he hadn't even gotten time to find out hot stuff's name. Though judging by the hairy look that he and Gin had gotten, it didn't bother him all that much. He just noted down silver-haired guy in his mental catalog of 'potential problems/people that I need to fuck with some day soon.'

The game room was about as exciting as he expected it it to be in a place like this.

He wasn't in the mood to crash a conversation, at least not yet. And really, none of the current ones he could eavesdrop on sounded that interesting. But there was a younger guy with blue hair (that was kind of interesting) and a blond guy without friends yet.

He flipped a mental coin. Guy with blue hair it was. He walked up to him, giving him his usual, friendly smile. "Anything interesting?" he asked.

The number of games hadn't really grown since Fayt had been here last, which was a little upsetting. For some reason he'd been hoping they'd get a new shipment, or at least bring up the quality of what was around. After all, as soon as he picked up one of the more "advanced" devices, he could tell that there had never been any real consideration given to it. Scratched screen, flimsy button, broken back, and those were just some of the things wrong with the poor electronic creature. And, geez, when he turned it around, there was even a spot where someone had gone over a name heavily with black marker ( ... )

Jack smiled apologetically. "Sorry, didn't mean to. I guess I'm just used to sneaking around." He shrugged. "Considering we're somewhere that they won't even give us real scissors, I'd be surprised if there were anything decent. Us inmates are just going to drool on it anyway," he joked.

"I'm Captain Jack Harkness," he said. "I got dropped in here last night, so I'm just trying to get around some." He gave Fayt one of his most charming smiles.

Fayt just waved off the apology. Really, it was his fault for being so preoccupied with checking for decent materials. .. Which, seeing how it's being repeated means it's doubly important, he was really hoping they would have gotten in. Not that it was too bad once he thought about it. Washu would probably be able to bring him something if he told her how bored he was, she seemed nice enough. She had enough disregard for routine to do it too ( ... )

Jack mentally filed Fayt's real and fake names away. "Oh yeah... they do call us by fake names, don't that. I haven't really been paying attention." It was a complete lie, but Jack was a superlative liar. He was still feeling very strange about his fake name being... well, his real name. No need to spread it around, because if other people started calling him that, he'd start feeling like he needed to crawl out of his skin or something.

"That's an interesting name," he said. "I don't think I've ever heard one like it. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" He was mostly curious; there was quite the collection of oddities, here. Blue hair might not be the half of it.

"Yeah," Fayt nodded but didn't press the subject. If Jack remembered his fake name, he would probably give it on his own. And if he didn't, well, there was really no use in embarrassing him by making him say so. Of course, that was a strange thing to ignore, but there were numerous people walking around with a lot weirder things to say.

"Fayt?" He had to be sure, to him 'Luca' was strange. It also sounded like a girls name, not that he was going to mention it. .. At least it didn't have two 'c's though, that would have been worse. "No, I don't mind. It's not like it's a big secret, at least. I'm from Earth, specifically, S.D. 772." He could go into more detail, but hey, what did little things like 4D Space and the Eternal Sphere matter?

Jack thought for a long moment, trying to place the date system. "Hey, is that... wait, never mind, wrong planet." He sighed. So close, and yet so far. "I don't think I'm familiar with SD for Earth dates. What's it stand for?"
