Miles Edgeworth had quietly snuck off to a corner of the cafeteria during lunch, avoiding making conversations. He knew other people would probably lecture him later or accuse him of avoiding them, but that hadn't been true at all. He'd just wanted some time to work quietly by himself for a while

He found a chair by a table instead and rested his chin in one hand while idly twirling a pen in the other. He’d noticed that he never felt quite as tired as he should’ve, considering all the nights he spent running around awake. He passed it off as another Only At Landel’s mystery effect. He’d learned not to ask questions with the Turks, but he was starting to not even question things period here.
The Sun Room was almost empty, with the exception of a few patients (and was that a cat?) He stared absently at the area in front of him, letting his mind wander at will-although a part of him kept alert. Just in case Sephiroth decided to take a seat beside him or something.

She pulled out her journal and took a seat near a red haired man who looked a bit...despondent, she supposed.
"Lonely?" she asked, her flirtatious nature kicking in without her even thinking of it. She lowered her eyelids and smiled, her body angled casually to draw attention to her breasts. It was simply second nature to her, regardless of whether or not she was involved.
Besides, there was no harm in letting them look.

"Maybe," he said, flashing her an equally flirtatious smile. "But that would be a thing of the past, yeah?"
He tilted his head, letting his gaze linger just long enough. From the way she sat and spoke, he suspected she wouldn't mind. And she was an eye-catcher. Even the drab, grey clothing didn't manage to hide that fact.
"Mind if I get a name I can put to the pretty face?"

"And you are...?"

It wasn't hard to notice that she was eyeing him, too, and it was nice to see a response in kind. How long had it been since he'd even really spoken to a woman? Way too damned long.
He took her hand and gave it a brief shake. "Reno. Afraid it doesn't live up to yours in terms of originality."
Reply
"Reno, then." She settled back in the wheeled chair, hands folded in her lap. "And where do you hail from, Reno?"

That was the closest explanation he could come up with, but he suspected he'd missed the mark, even then.
"Place called Midgar," he said, though he doubted it would mean much to her. "Or, it's Edge, now. You?"
Reply
"Ah, Midgar." She nodded. That was where Barret was from. "I know people from your world." More or less. She knew one, at least. She wondered if this man was an ally or an enemy of her former lover's....
"I'm from Amestris," she offered. "If that means anything to you."
Reply
"Do you? Who?"
This was a surprise. What was also surprising was the location she gave next.
"Yeah, it does, actually. I know people from yours, too, then. Hughes and Mustang."
Well, he wasn't sure about Mustang, but the man probably came from the same place as Hughes, given how familiar with each other the two had seemed. Maybe Alfons, too, even.

As to whom Lust knew from Midgar.
"Barret? He's rather hard to miss. Giant, dark skinned man. Foul mouth." But still, a good man. She felt a bit badly over how everything had happened. But that was how things had worked, and she wasn't going to waste too much time worrying over it.
She had given him a good time, after all.

It didn't escape his notice, though, that Lust made no mention as to her opinion on Hughes. Either she just didn't know Hughes that well, or...
Reno smiled wryly. "Yeah, I know him a little." He and his buddies put me in the hospital. "He's a..."
A what? Actually, he wasn't sure what to label Barret. They weren't enemies - not anymore - but they sure as hell weren't friends, either.
"We're familiar," he finished off.

"They aren't trustworthy, I'm afraid. And I discovered this the hard way."

He vaguely remembered the redhead from earlier that morning. He nodded and smiled to show he didn't mean anything by the comment.

His gaze shifted upward as the blond from this morning approached. He smiled back and stood. He got the sense that he'd only be intruding on something if he stuck around any longer.
"Don't forget me too fast, yeah?" he said to Lust, before giving them both a wave as he left.

"But Cliff, you left me alone for so very long... what was I to do?" She was comfortable flirting with him. He'd never made any further move to take things beyond simple flirtations - like with Mustang. It was truly harmless.
"We'll speak again, Reno," she promised, nodding to the man. "Take care of yourself."

He turned the chair as usual and used the back to rest his arms on. "Just tell me how many of them I have to fight off to win back my lady love. I'll be your knight in shining armor." He grinned a little wider, well aware of how dorky it sounded.
