Miles Edgeworth had quietly snuck off to a corner of the cafeteria during lunch, avoiding making conversations. He knew other people would probably lecture him later or accuse him of avoiding them, but that hadn't been true at all. He'd just wanted some time to work quietly by himself for a while

"Ah- Tyche!" Of course, the promise of "no claws in flesh" just had to be broken, and as tiny as those claws were, it still broke through the cloth and into the skin just under it. Scrambling, Luxord had managed to pry the hissing cat off him and held her by the scruff, cooing to her and trying to lightly pet her through all the thrashing. "Shh, peanut, shh. It's okay, no one's going to hurt you."
Odd, how he could be seemingly caring with a kitten but not with another person.
Of course humans could not sense a vampire, but Nobodies knew when something was wrong. His blue eyes narrowed and the Gambler almost sneered at the man, clutching the poor animal closer in some attempt to sooth (or maybe just quit her flailing and clawing). "Do you mind? You're scaring the cat."

Flicking a glance at the watchful nurses, he noted their expressions; they were also staring at the cat, not him. All "Aidan" could say for sure was that the man's blood smelled foul. Something wasn't right with him, either ( ... )

The Nobody gave a smile, one that was definitely wrong. "In fact, continuation of your presence disturbs not only my feline friend, but me as well." He focused on the threads of Time, hoping the air would still and the annoying man would rewind with it…
But nothing happened. At most, the Nobody's left eye twitched. After clearing his throat, he held the scared kitten in his arms, eyes narrowed in some attempt at hate. "So please, I suggest you go."
Audacious miscreant, ruining a soothing moment between a Nobody and his kitten…

He could work through the spitting and hissing of an upset female if he had to. He lived with Ruka, after all.

Needless to say, it was rather hard to pull off looking masculine while pressing a tiny kitten to your chest, petting it gently, and whispering to it quietly out of some sort of sympathy.
After a few more scratches, the Nobody managed to wrap the cat enough into his arms to still it. While she still continued to breathe harshly, at least the flailing had stopped. "Poor thing," he whispered into those little ears, stroking her head affectionately (or as much as he could).

The black ball of fluff, on the other hand, managed to crawl up the Nobody's shirt and hide herself.

Then he tipped his head back, until he could comfortable observe the room upside down from off the armrest. Now that he was in the mind-frame of research, was it worth it to enter into another conversation? This one was too caught up in his animal. His gaze flitted to and fro, watchful. Of course there were many he'd seen, but never spoken to, and they often clumped together like now. There was one man sitting close to the entrance, but... eh, rejected.
The woman and kid from the Sun Room? Rejected. Aoyagi Seimei? Definitely rejected. Abarai Renji and his female friend? Rejected on the basis it would be no fun to bug him this early. The man Alucard had been sucking on at lunch? Rejected rejected rejected. (That made three. Was he plan on ensnaring an army of twits? Aidou didn't feel so much anger, but repulsion and an age-old weariness. It ( ... )

Miku had left to go do errands, leaving Ashton sitting with the kittens that had been displaced from her lap. He picked one of them up and cradled it in the crook of his arm, letting it snooze. He wasn't sure if he was going to be able to nap now. He probably should have eaten lunch, forced it down.. he was finally getting a little hungry.
Well, damn.
He glanced about, bored already, before noticing that someone Miku had said was someone who spent time with Mr. Eyepatch Xigbar (Zigbar?) was sitting alone. Of course, it could have been the other guy who had left that Ashton was looking for - who knew where he'd gone. Might as well try this guy.
He brought the little grey kitten over and tentatively sat down at the same couch as Luxord. He smiled a little bit, painedly, and mumbled a quick greeting. "Er. Hi."

However, since Tyche needed removal from the inside of his shirt, the Gambler hadn't given a second thought about someone joining him while he pried the tiny claws off his chest. But when he was successful… it was almost as if losing at the same time.
Blink. Blink. "Hello."

"Er." Nervous. Best to get to the subject at hand. "...Do you know a guy.." How best to put it? Name him? No, the elusive Mr. Eyepatch had far too many names already, and this guy might be able to tell him straight, "..with scars and an eyepatch? Miku said you did.."

Luxord just grinned and leaned towards the other, already having some idea of how the other could possibly know his favorite gunner though, it was hard to not look like Dr. Evil while petting a kitten in your lap. II was just so predictable sometimes, and as nervous as this boy was…
"What would it be to you if I did, hm?" A tilt of the head, and the fact that he was showing his teeth only made him look suspiciously devious. "You've a matter with my dear friend?"

Come to think of it, why was he asking around about Xigbar? What was he going to do? Force an apology out of him..? Well, maybe.
"Ah. Er. Maybe, just a little bit of one. I met him for the first time just last night, and he gave me a message for my roommate, so.." He swallowed slightly. "Er.. are you friends with Axel too?"
