At least she had done something last night, small as it had been. She took pleasure in killing the creatures that roamed the building at night. Calf still aching, Lust got herself breakfast and sat down by herself.

"Who was looking for me?" She could take a stab in the dark, of course, but she didn't want to make a fool of herself. Though she realized that with River, she could perhaps glean a few hints to what lay beneath the surface. Her own surface. She set down her fork and leaned her chin on her hand, looking at the girl carefully.
"You can see what's inside a person's mind, can't you? Is it all random, or can you control it at all?"

Scar frowned a little at the two females of their "family unit," so to speak, then took a seat across from them. He looked towards Lust.

"You're worse off than I am," she pointed out. "I ran into a few rats last night. I've suffered worse in this infernal place." She shrugged. But she flicked her gaze to Scar's eyes, if only for a moment. He had noticed.
"Yes, well, Scar oftentimes makes it rather difficult to take care of him." There was an almost teasing note in Lust's voice now. "It's not your fault. For all of his gruff and grump, he is a bit of a hero." She paused, her fork halfway to her mouth. "I take it the two of you encountered something rather nasty?"

But before the Ishbalan could get a full sentence, Lust was already speaking in the same kind of tone as the girl, and Scar couldn't help but frown not only at the low-blow comments, but at the blatant attacks on his social character (or lack thereof).
It wasn't like he much cared for appearances, but it... hurt a little, to hear things put so blunt--
