Night 49: Home World - Baticul

[from here]When Anise stepped outside, she braced herself for the pounding rain that was sure to soak and flatten her pigtails, but even after taking a few steps, nothing hit her. Not only that, but she couldn't even hear the storm anymore. The dramatic difference in atmosphere between this place and what she had anticipated left the girl ( Read more... )

Guy's train of thought about where they might be able to find some good material to get a proper hilt for Luke was completely derailed when he stepped through the door after Anise, and, after a weird dizzying feeling, found himself in the throne room in Baticul.

It actually took him a second or two to recognize it, if only because it was more or less the last thing he would have expected. Landel had dragged them from their homes to an unknown planet, so suddenly being back, well ( ... )

It wasn't anger or annoyance that filled Luke as he stepped into the familiar throne room, with King Ingobert sitting in the distance. Was he trying to say he didn't plan on coming back!? Where was he going to go, then ( ... )

While Guy was struggling with his own reaction at suddenly being back on Auldrant after all he'd gone through to get here (hell, even dying in his attempt to find a way home), he found himself distracted by Luke. Drawing his gaze away from the room, he instead looked at his friend. He knew Luke well enough to tell that he was taking this hard, and he trailed after the redhead, staying close out of that ingrained sense of obligation ( ... )
