HK stepped through, mouth already moving before his eyes got around to letting his brain in on things, and before the confusion managed to tap Mouth on the shoulder and get it to realize something was wrong. "Statement: And here we-- ...Where are we." This wasn't what was on the door. In fact, the room was too big to be the one the ( Read more... )

[SOMEONE REMIND ME HOW TO READ MAPS, PLZ. X|]

Contrarily, Yomi only propped the pipe against her shoulder and benignly surveyed her handiwork. Rashness wasn’t what drew her on, not anymore. "There," she said. "Breadcrumbs to mark our way." Teleportation was all well and good--she had to believe in it, even if she’d never experienced it quite like this, outside of TV shows and the range of abilities she was familiar with--but in this instance, who could say how it was working. Or where they would end up.

A sign of their passage would make it easy to tell one bland place from another.

And then they were off again. And again… Another unnatural leap, to the soccer field outside. Yomi lifted an eyebrow at the pile of rank jerseys next to her head and smiled. When she’d wanted a challenge, this hadn’t exactly occurred to her, though that was, she thought, the point. Without comment, she followed suit and turned back to the door.

Only to find herself on the second floor? Certainly looked like the room that sat behind the janitor’s closet. Stunk like it, too.

Unlike when they’d been in the shed, the thunder was once again muffled. She exhaled. "This is going to be an entertaining night," said Yomi. She took a cursory glance around, more out of trained practicality than real need. She’d been here once before, and nothing appeared to have changed. It was too bad she was unprepared to really make use of the potential destinations and the potential stuff she could find, but oh well. Playing things by ear was a necessary aspect of Landel’s, exemplified by this area-hopping they were doing. Where to next, she wondered.

The newest room at least held promise, and as Teresa passed the beam of her flashlight over the shelves, Homura reached out to stop its progress over a certain area. "And of potential use to us." With Adelheid gone, keeping his group supplied with weapons of any sort was a concern. The small blades that came from another upstairs area were useful, but the blunt-edged hammers Homura had seen on the shelf were also. "Hold your light there. Hayashi, be on guard for anything that might approach." Not that Homura knew how observant the woman was, but he trusted his own ability to compensate for anything she might have missed, so it was a good opportunity to judge her skills.

Homura moved over to the shelves, slipping off the outer coat he wore so it could serve as container for what he might grab. Of course, while it was tempting to take everything, or make use of the wheeled containers along the wall, Homura kept his limits in mind. Anything too cumbersome would only serve as hindrance as they progressed, particularly if they did have to fight monsters or worse along the way. So Homura limited his selection to weapons more easily wielded by a single hand; three hammers, and three jagged blades that weren't ideal, but certainly seemed capable of dealing great damage. There was significant room left within the fabric when Homura folded it, meaning it'd be able to hold anything else of use they might come across. After some maneuvering, the demi-god twisted the cloth to form a makeshift pouch he could wear across his back--hopefully without any of the blades cutting him as he moved.

"If you see anything you think would be of use to you, grab it quickly." Not wanting to linger longer in the room, Homura headed for the door, though he paused to wait so they could all leave together. It wouldn't do for one of them to be attacked when another had already passed through the entrance; clearly the doors didn't lead back to the same place a person had been before.
