The return trip had proved inconsequential, no significance beyond increasing rainfall and silence between brothers. If he missed a crucial detail, Nigredo would not have known--the sharpness in his arm had occupied all thoughts, bringing wayward attention to the background. He spent the bus ride leaning his forehead against the window pane,

The small connector hallway was skipped, and quickly too once Kurogane spotted the white fluff of a familiar coat. There wasn't any mistaking it for how many times he'd chased the magician around, even if their clothes had been taken by that witch, and now was no different.
Instead of berating the man for leaving his room already, the ninja simply stepped up, observed what he could of Fai's physical condition to make sure he would be up for the night, then turned to go. He couldn't have cared less anymore just what the hell the man was thinking in this place. So long as he understood that Kurogane wasn't letting him do what he wanted anymore.
"Coming or not?"

It wasn't an admission of guilt, he told himself, nor was he saying it was anything more than exactly what it was. Though he knew what his answer would be, ought to be, he found himself hesitating when Kurogane turned on his heel and started on back down the hallway. A few seconds passed before the click of Yuuhi's boots echoed behind the ninja's.
Where were they going? It could've been around the corner to be lectured again, or it could be that he just needed an extra hand to get over the outside walls of the institute. Who could be sure? And while he questioned himself with every step, whether or not it was the right decision, where it might lead him, what it was for, it didn't stop him from following.

Rolo couldn't get out of his room fast enough. It was hard to get to sleep during dinner, but he was trying to get as much sleep as he could so he wouldn't get tired, and it seemed to pay off as he quickly arranged his things and started out the door. Just the scalpels and the flashlight was enough, along with a pillowcase holding the notebook and pens he would need to take notes. Rolo intended to be very thorough with this mission, after all.
It was one from his brother, so he couldn't take it lightly. Of course, little did he know that the Institute (and Lelouch) had different plans for the night. It was best that he hurried, quickly, because Rolo didn't want other people to beat him to the Doctor's offices and possibly mess up the rooms.
For his brother, everything had to be perfect.
[ hey Sync, hurry up and ruin his night forever. ]

Expecting his mission to go easy was a very bad move in this place, which was something Rolo was aware of but didn't quite think about. That was, until he hear a familiar voice and it was like the sound waves were making his skin crawl, Rolo pausing only slightly before continuing on like he never heard Stephen speak to him in the first place.
Goddamnit.
The boy seemed to be thinking, processing a way to get Stephen off his back. Killing him was the best (and only) solution' of course, but Rolo wasn't sure if he wanted to risk killing Stephen out in the open like this, with others around. At least, he would have to worry about that if he killed Stephen in the patient blocks... That's right, it was simply a matter of tactics,
Still, that didn't mean he wanted to indulge Stephen tonight any more than he had to and he hurried to the next hallway, as if trying to lose Stephen in the shadows.

Once he was satisfied that the weapons passed his personal inspection, he grabbed his glowrod and headed out into the hallway. He'd patrol tonight, see if anyone needed help. That would make him feel useful.

It was nice that his roommate wasn't very talkative tonight, because talking with someone he didn't really know was the last thing Heiji wanted to do. This was closely followed by leaving his room for the next million years.
He probably should have sat up, moved, at least made himself alert--but the dark softness of the pillow left him alone with the never-ending replay of Sen's death. One disaster was enough, he didn't need to go out into the hallways and find that someone else he knew was dead as well. Or be attacked by something and be reminded of the fact that he'd been stuck here for what felt like eternity.
He wanted to go to sleep. Then he could let all of this just drift away for a few hours at least.

It hadn't taken Kaito very long to get to Hattori's room, but as he walked down the hall it was on, he couldn't help but wonder if the detective would be in. He didn't think that he would have headed out already given the events he'd witnessed last night, but there was always the chance that those same events had spurred him into action.
He came to a stop outside the door. Only one way to find out...
Kaito rapped his knuckles against the door. "Hattori?" he called. "You in there?"

"If I said yes, would'ya be pissed tha' 'm not gettin' up t'answer th'door?" he called, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Pissed? No," he replied, cracking the door open. He stuck his head inside to see if the roommate had already cleared out--he had--and then stepped in. He walked towards the bed that wasn't currently occupied by a detective and took a seat.
"How're you holding up?"

Dinner itself had been spent in silence, but Yakushiji Tenzen cared little if his roommate chose to spend most of his time fast asleep. Instead, the ninja focused upon making his preparations for the night after dinner, so he could leave once the doors had unlocked. After he had finished, he sat down on a chair, crossed his arms, and waited.
Before long, the announcement finally broke the silence, once again making sure every single patient would hear the man's rambling. There were some mentions of interest tonight, it seemed. Changes. Visitors. All part of the man's ridiculous games.
He would not waste any more time in this room, however. Without so much as sparing a glance towards the sleeping man across the room, the ninja moved out into the hallway.
