Night 48: M-C Block Hallway

Mar 23, 2010 16:17

[From here]It would seem Tenzen had left his room early, as the halls were completely silent thus far. It was not quite surprising, however, considering the ninja had left his room almost immediately after the doors had unlocked. After all, he didn't wish to waste more time than absolutely necessary ( Read more... )

"Well Javert, it's a good thing you don't live in a room twenty miles away," Guybrush said to himself as he stepped into the hallway. He had to pause for a second, trying to remember the way. Where did that door in the middle of the hallway go again? "Oh right- that's the bathroom."

With no need to go, he continued down the hall.

[From here.]Guybrush took a moment to don his charred shoes as he exited the hall where M85 was still blazing in full glory. He didn't see anyone in the area- how was it that out of all the rooms in the asylum, his was the only one to spontaneously combust? He arranged his inventory again, returning the sword to the hook and his shovel and flashlight to the good hand. The pause made him painfully aware of how burned he smelled. It was probably a consequence of running into the fiery deathtrap that had been his living quarters ( ... )

Chekov scanned the hallway, finding it nearly deserted save for two men heading out of the block. He moved in the same direction, pleased that he could at least remember how to get to the meeting point.

Another hall, empty for now. It had come to the mathematician's attention that he seemed to be in one of the less occupied halls. Well, suited him fine - the less obtuse obstacles in his way, the better.

Shovel over one shoulder, other hand dragging the hand truck, Sho trundled out of the block and into the hall.

They were just about there. Pausing for a moment to think, Guy made a mental map and situated himself in order to figure out which exact hallway they needed to go to. "I think it's the one at the far end," he said after a moment, and he didn't delay in walking in that direction.

"Leon is a friend of Claude's, by the way," Guy added in as they traveled. "He's only about Anise's age, but he's some kind of genius. I'm glad we were actually able to squeeze you in for this." It sounded like the kid's original plans had fallen through, and so they'd gotten pretty damn lucky.

It was nice, though, since instances like that were pretty rare in this place. Getting Luke a proper sword was going to make Guy feel worlds better. It didn't fix everything, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. He was sure that it would help his friend's confidence, too.

"So, what he's like a really young blacksmith?" Luke remarked, moving through the hall. Now that he had an idea of where they were going, he didn't hesitate, and didn't look to Guy for any answers. He recalled the blacksmith in Sheridan who did something similar, and he wondered if this Leon was like that. Did he have to find random things around the institute in order to make weapons? And would they be very good?

"I should figure out something I'm really good at and like to do," he added thoughtfully. It wasn't a comment that was putting himself down. He genuinely needed to know. He was still really young. "Claude got me thinking about it, actually. I finally have a chance to do it ... even here."

Eager to find action, he introduced himself while he walked. "I'm Forte! The Super Fighting Robot," he added with enthusiasm.

Beelzemon followed, keeping up with Forte, who... sounded like a cool kind of guy, actually. "'m Beelzemon, Mega-level Digimon," he replied, just having to hold his own end up on the ridiculous-sounding-and-currently-not-applicable descriptors. "You been stuck here long?"

Beelzemon, eh? The 'mon reminded him of the Robot Masters, and Mega-level Digimon sounded like an impressive rank. "It's been a couple weeks, I think. It's hard to tell, I keep losing time."
