Day 48: Doctor's Office 5 (Dr. Venkman) [Second Shift]

Mar 07, 2010 18:32

Last day of the work week. Venkman should have been thrilled. Instead, he was told in the morning that not only had the attractive Dr. Burroughs quit before he ever had a chance to ask her out, but that her patients were being thrust onto all the other doctors in turn. That meant that he would have two - count 'em - two double patient shifts to deal with today. Terrific. He was popping the champagne already.

At least one of his first patients was supposed to be a woman, for once. That was a welcome change. She wasn't that much younger than him, either - 29, according to her patient file. He knew he ought not to be making passes at crazy people, but who knew? If this girl happened to be as freakishly intelligent as some of his other patients thus far, then she might actually make a decent dinner date. You know, once she stopped being crazy, of course. Unfortunately, it looked like this woman was like John - another Cotard's sufferer. You know, Landel, if you use a joke too many times, it stops being funny.

The other patient up this shift seemed similar to another one he'd already had. His delusions sounded like they came from the same kind of science-fiction fantasy world as Aidan's had. He hadn't made a lot of progress (read: none at all) on Aidan yesterday, which didn't give him much hope for whoever the hell this new guy was.

So, yeah. Just another fun-filled day at Landel's Institute. "Joy," Venkman said to himself, fwumping down into his desk chair and sipping his morning coffee.
