Night 47: Activities Shed

Feb 17, 2010 17:01

[from here]Following Asuka into the dark shed, Junpei relied upon the girl to present the light and he took a better grip on the bat. Hopefully, there wouldn't be any creepy crawlies, but he was prepared as much as he could for some. The last time he'd been in the shed there wasn't anything, but the damn place was prime nesting grounds for things ( Read more... )

[From here. Also assuming that this is after Junpei and Asuka have left.]As Sora entered the shed, he felt that he'd made the right decision by agreeing to let Kairi wait outside. This place was dark, kind of dusty, and cramped. While Kairi was the smallest of the three of them, it would have been an even tighter fit if she'd come in too ( ... )

"We shouldn't have left her out there." It was the first thing that came to mind, but he wasn't able to argue, and didn't bother. Really, it wouldn't be fair to Kairi to think she needed someone to watch over her, but he would have preferred that he was the one to stand outside, while Sora and Kairi poked around inside. In here, everything seemed harmless. Some balls, some bats, but not much else ( ... )

Sora didn't like the idea of Kairi being out there on her own any more than Riku did, but it wasn't like she was unarmed or anything. She had been the first person to volunteer, and Sora was doing his best to treat the girl as an equal. He knew that was what she wanted, and hopefully Riku could come to understand that, too ( ... )

A favor, of course-Sora was the type who would bother to do favors for other people, and it was why he was the keyblade master. Riku could admire that all he wanted, but when it came down to it, it was only another contradiction in their dispositions. They weren't that much alike, after all, and that was important. But maybe he had to follow Sora's lead now. It wouldn't be easy and he would try to do things his own way, but that wouldn't change his general reaction to things.

"Yeah, I'll take it," he told Sora, moving over to grab the bat from his hands. "What're we gonna do with them now that we have them?" The obvious question needed to be posed. If the beginning of their next nightshift really did turn into dropping off weapons for some club, he would leave Sora to do it. There were more important things.

Now that each of them had a bat in hand, Sora figured that they'd done enough. He hoped that Hitsugaya wasn't expecting more, but this was as much as he felt comfortable carrying around. They were already going to have their hands full, and it would be even worse if they had to call out their Keyblades for any reason.

"Just take them with us," Sora replied to Riku's question. He thought he'd explained that already, but he wasn't going to pick a fight about it right now. They still had a lot to do, and he wasn't sure how much of the night was already behind them. They might not get to the basement after all, but they still had to try. And maybe Riku would find this part more interesting.

"Anyway, Kairi's waiting," he said, quickly heading for the door and back out to the third member of their group.
