[from here] The snatch-and-grab had taken only a few seconds before Falis had Ritsu inside the bathroom. She spun about once through the door to place herself between her prey and its means of escape, kicking the door shut behind her. She would have her answers.

Falis' eyes were narrowed as she watched the man, arms crossed before her and the katana quite visible on her hip. She did not immediately reply when Ritsu finally looked at her and stammered out words. He didn't look like a magic-user to her, but stranger things had happened. Finally, after a few long moments, she spoke.
"Last night - explain."

"Aa. Grow a fucking backbone," she replied. "If I was going to kill you, you'd be dead already. Now explain exactly what happened with you last night."
Patience, hunter. Patience.

When the expression of true fear crossed his face and words were stammered out, Falis' eyes narrowed dangerously. Magic as an accident? And Kaito was secretly her lover.
"No, I think you can, Ritsu," Falis replied in a low voice. "Whatever it was, it happened in my room. You owe me an explanation."

"Look at me," she told him.

But it would have been rude to disregard her request...so slowly, tentatively, he lifted his head, peering at her nervously and trying not to let his gaze drop, as he instinctively wanted to. Lowly being such as himself did not deserve to look others in the eye so closely, especially royalty.

"There's no reason to be afraid of anything happening to me. I am more than just a princess; I can take care of myself." As if the sword didn't make that clear all on its own. "I have dealt with magic before and those that wield it with the intent to harm. I can't imagining you harming even a fly, so let me protect you. To make things very clear - you telling me what happened is not going to put me in any more danger than I already am in, or have been in the past."
A pause. "Now, tell me."

That meant that, were it found out that his lowly self had divulged the family secret, it would be he alone that met with a punishment against which he could not defend. Such punishment would be well deserved, he was sure...his family had already suffered such a great deal, simply by having him in their presence. "...you don't need to protect this unimportant Ritsu, Alita-hime-sama..."
He sighed gently, peering up at her meekly, a blush coloring is tear-stained cheeks. He owed her an explanation, and he would give it to her - any price to be paid would be his alone.
"I...I'm cursed..." He finally managed to murmur, not used to speaking of it aloud.

And then he said it. Well, kind of.
"Cursed..."
Kagura had once mentioned something about being cursed before, but Falis never could get out of her what her curse had been. Ritsu and Kagura were related. Was this some kind of blood-curse? Oy, she had a hard time remembering what the ancient texts said about blood-curses. Where the hell was Dominikov when she needed him? Aside from no longer existing.
"Okay... what kind of curse?"

Yet, he was already here, and in addition to owing the princess who sat before him, she had said that she would protect him, someone so terribly undeserving, so insignificant. He would have to phrase things carefully...not mention that his dear relative was involved, unless he was specifically asked, but still give the young woman the information she had wanted ( ... )

POOF!! As suddenly as it had the night before, the embrace produced a cloud of smoke which quickly filled the room, obscuring nearly everything in view as it hung in the air.
When it finally cleared several moments later, the young man was gone, replaced by a pile of clothes on the floor with a small, trembling brown monkey sitting on top of it. He peered fearfully up at the young woman, who, thanks to the immediate difference in size, seemed to be towering over him as he still tried to absorb what had just happened. His black eyes shimmered, human emotions of shock and confusion playing out through the animalistic countenance.
His voice, still distinctly his, echoed from the small body, though the mouth didn't move. "Eeeeh!? Wh-what?!"

Falis blinked in bewilderment and tilted her head at the monkey. That was not what she'd been expecting when he said he transformed. Curses were generally there to scare people. This little monkey wasn't scary at all. Reaching out she gently poked the monkey as if confirming it was real.
"You're a monkey." It was more a statement than a question.
