You weren't so quick to gloat last night, asshole, Mello silently retorted as he listened to the announcement. He was in more of a hurry tonight than last, wanting to meet up with Teresa and get what they could from the doctor's computer, and still have time left over to get outside. He grabbed the pipe from its hiding place and pulled on his boots

The closet, on the other hand, revealed something interesting; his suit from those two days, and all of the accessories. He couldn't help but frown at the contradiction. Supposedly, the staff wanted them to believe that their lives weren't real, but if that were true, why allow him items with the one-winged eagle on them? None but the Ushiromiya family used it as their family crest. Of course, that couldn't be proved, but it seemed counterproductive all the same. He ran his fingers gently against the fabric. Admittedly, it was tempting to change just because of how ridiculous these uniforms were, and it would keep him warmer should he decide to wander outside, but beyond going to the Sun Room, he wasn't really sure what he was going to do that night. There was nothing to fear about the Darkness usually, but that didn't keep him from feeling uneasy. Yeah, there was nothing to fear, but this place was coated in it. That wasn't a good thing.
Riku forced himself out of the bed, body feeling gangly and uncomfortable now with this newfound awareness. Riku wanted his clothing, his shoes, and the ability to bring out Way to the Dawn immediately, but he couldn't slice at the air. He couldn't do much of anything. Too bad, really-he wished he could get past these restrictions. At least he could act like he was okay for Sora. If his friend couldn't smile as easily as he once did, Riku could try to make up for it.
"That's a stupid idea," he said out loud to the emptied room. If he took his time thinking about the Darkness, about what was going on, the others were going to beat him. Well, he'd just have to come up with some reason for it.
He grabbed his flashlight and headed out. Though he could see okay in the Darkness, he didn't want to chance this place throwing any curve balls at him.
