622 rounded the final corner to Commander Hayes' hall, stopping just past the intersection and scanning the area. No sign of Xigbar yet. He supposed he'd have to wait again. Hopefully not for long, although he had no real clue what else he was going to be doing tonight.
He sighed, standing at rest but still alert, keeping watch for hostiles and Xigbar.

Despite how the previous exchange had worked out, Xigbar was far from a hostile, especially not to the trooper. Quite the contrary, with how his plans for the night were going, he was in quite the chipper mood, a grin on his face as he strolled down the hallway. He was alert for problems, sure, but that didn't mean he had to have a long face as he moved along.
Needless to say, he caught sight of the trooper sooner rather than later, and so he waved jauntily as he moved along. "There you are! Hope you haven't been waitin' for long?"

"A few minutes," he replied, taking the rifle off his back and holding it out to Xigbar. "Not as bad as standing guard duty."

So, instead of some conciliatory remark or an offer to tag along, Xigbar just shrugged. "Unfortunately, I've got a bit of a date tonight, so I can't really stick around to babysit. Wander around for a little and I'm sure you'll find something to keep yourself occupied. See ya tomorrow!" And with an idle wave of his hand, Xigbar just left, not giving the poor trooper another thought as he headed off to his next bit of entertainment.
