The logical part of his mind found Landel's latest rant intriguing. Not the words themselves, of course, but the fact that when he had spoken to "Nurse Lydia" something had audibly responded to him. Abe had heard of the nurses changing into monsters after lights-out, but if Lydia-the-monster obeyed him as Lydia-the-human did that meant that Landel not only encouraged the monsters but held an extremely tight control over them. Now that was interesting information.
There was also someone else out there mounting a resistance against Landel, someone who took the man's interest specifically and was replacing a prior unknown foe. They had, if not an ally, at least a fellow enemy out there.
Abe donned his belt and baseball bat with some trepidation, then considered his wetsuit top. It might offer some meager protection from attacks, but it also limited his mobility in a way that his loose shirt didn't. Finally he put it on, but kept his normal shirt tucked into his belt, theorizing that he could always give it to Scarecrow. The man needed the protection far more than Abe.
