Mohinder sat at his desk with his arms crossed over his chest and a calm that somehow managed to cover the inner turmoil he had over that day's short list of patients. One was just going to grate on his nerves, if this time was anything like the last. He could deal with that. It was the day's other patient that had him wanting to call in sick

He chuckled to himself as he was led out of the Sun Room. First Peter, now Mohinder? It was like this place was trying to give him a home away from home, even if it was only populated by self-righteous assholes - some of whom didn't even recognize him. How sad.
And on the other hand, how fortunate. If Suresh couldn't recognize him as Sylar, it'd be much easier to get him in a position of false security. Maybe, if Sylar turned the right knobs, he'd make the doctor feel comfortable enough that he'd start giving away some information - maybe not any really useful information, but enough that Sylar could use it to figure out bigger, better things. That was exactly how he'd used Suresh before; he had no reason to think he couldn't do it again ( ... )

On the other hand, he'd gotten word that this particular patient had shown signs of improvement, which could be promising. Part of him wanted to regard Zachary as someone who thought the same way Sylar did, and thus might just be playing along for the sake of him and the nurses - to lure them into a false sense of security. However, if he allowed himself to focus too much on that he wouldn't be able to handle the man as though he really was recovering and that was what he really needed to do. Suspicions should come if there was good reason, but not at the very start of therapy.
"Hello, Mr. Blaine. I admit you threw me for something of a loop then. Are you aiming for a better session this time?"

If only Sylar could examine it...
But as much as he could dream about figuring out how the people here were messing with their cronies, he only had words to help him now. Words and practice with using them.
He glanced away sheepishly. "I've been feeling better lately. You know, realizing just how crazy this has all been, finding myself again..."
He continued watching Mohinder out of the corner of his eye. That was a good question too: just how much did Dr. Suresh know about 'Zachary Blaine'?

It was relieving to know that he wouldn't have to go through another session with a man who thought he was Mohinder's worst nightmare, and the doctor visibly relaxed as Zachary spoke. It looked as if the nurses had been right about his improvement, as long as this wasn't just a front.
"That's good to hear." He smiled genuinely, folding his hands together on the desk in front of him. "Do you remember when this began? Your change of heart, I mean. Was it due to any treatment you were given, or did you come about this decision on your own?"
After all, if they could find out what had happened with this man, they might also be able to deal with the patient who thought he was Peter Petrelli. He couldn't help but think the two issues were related.

It looked like Suresh had been taken in - hook, line, and sinker. Sylar wasn't really surprised, though he had to suppress the urge to chuckle at the ease of it all. A whole new chance to beat Mohinder on his own turf? He couldn't ask for anything better.
"Well," Sylar began, scratching behind his ear thoughtfully, "it must've been about... two days ago? I just woke up and... suddenly..."
Suddenly, he had been cured. For a full day, Zachary Blaine had inhabited Sylar's body, and though the man was long gone, his memories weren't. Sylar knew every shameful detail of what he'd done that day, and he even remembered a little more - about a life that paralleled his own so closely that he could probably pretend he knew it even if the details were now fuzzy.
He shook his head, as if he'd been lost in thought, and looked back to Mohinder. He tapped a fist to his chest.
"It was like... a switch had gone off. I was me again."

He nodded, as the timing was the same as when he'd been told the man had started improving. At least that much matched up. "Do you remember anything different happening that morning? A change in medication? Something someone said to you, perhaps?" If it was the former, then that was something he'd have to address the nurses about. There was no information in his files on what medication, if any, his patients were being treated with. He considered that rather important information.

"I... honestly don't know," Sylar said with a sigh, letting all his disappointment and frustration show. He rubbed his brow and was reminded of the small scar that now ran through it. He frowned. "There... wouldn't happen to be anything in my chart, would there?"

"Have you felt any different since then?" he tried. "Any physical changes? Feeling more or less easily exhausted than before? Any sudden aches or pains?" Anything that would be indicative of a change that Zachary had forgotten or simply been unaware of. If it was nothing like that, then he could only assume he'd been influenced by an outside source. Finding that source would just prove difficult.
