Still she nodded her head vigorously up and down in agreement, as though it would become true if she concurred that much harder. And again he made an offer that was just far too odd compared to the usual. He was offering... to go first? Why? To protect her? This was so strange. Wasn't he taking this Casanova thing a little too fa-- You know what? Whatever. It might actually help out if there was something lurking around.
"You'd... go first?" she repeated in wonderment that was somewhat sincere. She looked up as though considering it, then she nodded. "Hmmm. Okey dokey, then. You can lead and I'll be yer backup!" Harley pointed straight head as though the poor guy would magically be able to see through the gloom to where she was indicating. "We're supposed to go all the way down here and go through the door at the end."
She held up the iron poker in indication. "I'll be right behind ya, 'kay?" Won't whack him in the back of the head or anything either. Though that would be funny. ....Hmmmmmm.

Then again, they did have a common goal, were united in the fact that they were both prisoners, and she was terribly cute.
Despite the lack of monsters, the atmosphere in the hallway was tense as they proceeded slowly and quietly, the stifling darkness around them making the light less effective against the shadows than it should have been. They reached the end of the hall, and Edgar shined his light into the next hallway through the open door. "Looks like we're not the first to come through here tonight."
