Night 46: M-B Block Hallway

[From here]Oh yes. What a world of difference the right clothing made. Ordinarily, von Karma would have kept his coat buttoned up just to conceal that horrid logo on the hospital-issued shirts. However, the only reason he was even wearing the shabby-looking coat now was strictly for its function of carrying his items. Hopefully, the trip to the ( Read more... )

Trailing quietly behind the other patient, it didn't take long for Kirk to notice the man's unorthodox outfit. Kirk himself was dressed in the same gray clothes they'd put him in this morning - obviously not the same set he'd been wearing last night, which meant that, in addition to dressing his wounds while he was out, someone had also dressed him. Creepy. Possibly creepier if Kirk hadn't gotten himself into that kind of situation before...

It reminded him of the tailored Starfleet uniforms he'd seen Bones and Spock wearing, which at the time "Bill" had taken to be another step in his elaborate hallucination. He'd have to ask them about it later. For now, the man with the flashlight was taking a left turn. Kirk slowed to a stop, and reached out for the wall before he was plunged into total darkness.

He heard voices to the west. Keeping his hand on the wall, Kirk made his way to the last hallway in the block.

While empty hallways in this place could be eerie sometimes, Guy took it more as a sign of safety as he continued to the room block's exit. A lot of times that sense of urgency was completely self-created; not that he was ever willing to let his guard down, but the fact that he had a completely vacant hallway to walk through just made things easier in the end.

He was pretty eager to get to Luke's room as fast as possible, since he knew how rash and impatient his friend could be sometimes. He didn't think that Luke would go wandering off by himself on purpose, but there was always the possibility that he'd just end up doing it without meaning to.

Guy wasn't sure if Claude was behind him or ahead of him, but he figured he'd see for himself soon enough. And hopefully his friend would know that it was best if he hurried to their rendezvous point. Nodding to himself, Guy went through the door and out into the next hallway.

[From here.]An abandoned hallway was actually a good thing in Harvey's book. The less people who might get in his way, the better. Besides, it wasn't like monsters usually came this close to the rooms (at least not in his experience), so he was hardly worried ( ... )

On the other hand, just because Nathan's room was empty didn't necessarily mean he was gone forever. Peter knew that they would have run into each other if his brother had been coming to find him, but there was always the chance that the man had gone somewhere else entirely.

Peter wasn't sure why he would do that, but his brother had that tendency to be inconsiderate at times. And honestly, he'd prefer to think Nathan was selfish rather than gone.

It took him a second to remember the exact room number that Nathan had given him, but then it came to him: M65. After a little bit of wandering around the hallway, Peter figured out which one would lead to that room, and then headed down it, his pace picking up without him really realizing it.

His hallucinations were getting worse under the cover of darkness... no solace to be found in that department. Hopefully either Wilson's medication or McCoy's advice would help with this, but in the meantime he was just going to have to deal with it. As close as they got to him, they couldn't hurt him. He had to remember that.

ZEX kept going.
