Shinji hesitated at the threshold and after a moment of horrific indecision and fear he forced himself to take the step out of his room and into dim and darkened hallway. It was all strange again. The people, the appearance of this hallway - so much for hoping that last night might have been a fluke. With a start, he realized he still didn't know

Abe once again donned his wetsuit top and snapped the BPRD logo tight around his waist. It felt less like a collar now since he'd found a reason to use it. With Minato he'd gotten lucky, next tight he might need the protection. He needed a weapon this time, at the very least a steel pipe or a hammer or something like that, but if this place had an armory it wasn't marked on the local map.

He slipped Minato's Persona device into his gun holster and fastened the snap tightly over it. Giving it back to him seemed to be the honest thing to do but Abe couldn't resist feeling very wary about handing all that power back to the boy when he could so easily be turned against the rest of the inmates. Abe had felt no duplicitiousness in Minato when he'd investigated his mind, but he was so weak now that Minato could have easily hidden it under that mass of monstrosities. Perhaps he should have taken an ally with him, like Edward--perhaps he could trust no one here. It was so unsettling not to know the nature of others. How could anyone go through life not knowing...anything?
