[from here]Once out of the female block, Momo hesitated, unsure what she wanted to do. She'd left her room without a thought, her body automatically following the same motions she did every night once she'd secured Laevatein back in its hiding place in her room. She was feeling more comfortable with the broadsword, but there was only so much she

Once again, after checking for hazards, von Karma rounded the corner and headed north into the hallway just outside the female patient block. Only two people were present, a young woman who seemed to have lost her sense of direction... and Taura standing near the wall waiting for him.
"Ms. Taura," he said as he approached her, giving her a cordial nod. "Thank you for your promptness." Was he ever grateful that he didn't have to wait for her at all... unlike his daughter from the other night, as he recalled in anger. Furthermore, Ms. Taura's quick arrival meant that he could avoid a possible encounter with Franziska; after their heated discussion yesterday during lunch, the prospect of talking to her again was quite unappealing. At any rate, he had more important matters right now.
"I am also pleased to see that you have recovered from earlier today." He looked around for potential eavesdroppers before lowering his voice. "I presume that you are well enough to accompany me upstairs to the Patient Possessions Storage Room?"

Taura's voice was just slightly hoarse; a tickle lurked at the back of her throat, but she swallowed it down. "Is that where we're headed? No problem at all." She stretched, rolling the kinks out of her shoulders; muscle rippled in coordinated waves. "Ready when you are."

As it happened, Taura's reply refuted the latter explanation. It was just as well, for von Karma would ill tolerate cowardice in his traveling companion, especially one who towered over half a foot above him and displayed impressive musculature as she flexed her limbs. That dastardly fool Mr. Scar had been useless at warding off those vile creatures the other night. The memory invoked a searing pain in his right shoulder. He would have had to refrain from grabbing onto it out of habit were it not for the hammer he held in his left hand and the flashlight in his right. Instead, he clenched both of these items while he waited for the ache to subside.
Fighting off a grimace that threatened to shatter his stony facade, von Karma nodded to Ms. Taura. "Then let's go. We have no time to waste." Ensuring that the young woman was following him, he led the way south to the intersection of the main hallway.
