From here.Sean's legs were starting to burn from the effort of keeping Schuldig on his back. It was only a few more feet, he told himself. Like he always did when he was running with the soccer team. He was always last, but he could finish the run at least

Not breathing... heartbeat.... He bent to start CPR right away. Lift head, tilt chin, two breaths, thirty compressions, listening, two breaths, thirty compressions, listening...

But now, his and Chris' lives weren't in danger (in the moment, at least). And he couldn't afford to rest if he could help Chris with Schuldig somehow. It looked like Chris was performing CPR while Artemis remained crouched by Schuldig's head, watching the proceedings anxiously. Artemis always bit his lip like he was doing now when he was anxious--which wasn't often.
"How is he...?" Sean asked approaching the pair, afraid of the answer he'd get.

"Bad," he finally said softly, as he leaned up to press on the larger man's chest. "I'm not giving up." He bent to listen, then resumed breathing for Schuldig.

"Can I help...?" he asked, kneeling down next to Chris and watching him. "I can do this, if you need a break, Chris."
He looked up at Artemis, who was still kneeling beside Schuldig. HIs delusion nodded. 'I can help you through it,' he confirmed.

He bent to breathe again.

'You did this! This was your fault! If you'd just listened to him...!'
"Wait," Sean put a hand in front of Chris. "I thought I saw him breathe."

"Thank goodness."

Sean stood up and started pulling off chair cushions and laying them out on the floor for Chris to lay down on. It had to be more comfortable than the wall, he thought.
"We should probably stay here for tonight," he added, continuing to lay down cushions and find throw-pillows. He wondered if there was a first-aid kit, too. "I don't know if Schuldig will wake up, and you shouldn't move until--"
'Until morning comes and the Institute saves him. It's happened before,' Artemis said, sitting between Schuldig and Chris. He looked over Chris' wounds, expression sad and disapproving. Sean didn't need to be told he'd screwed up royally to know that he'd screwed up royally.
"Until the night's over," he said finally.

He watched Sean pile up pillow, wondering what he was doing...

"But that's not important right now," he said firmly. "Right now, you should lie down. Let me take care of you."
He took Chris' hand (the one not attached to the shoulder that had opened up again) and pulled on it slightly to guide him to the makeshift bed he'd made.

He had to do something or he was going to go crazy. Schuldig was breathing again, so that was one crisis averted. Now Chris was bleeding and Sean had seen the lightning throw him across the wall. He needed rest and he needed to stay stationary so he didn't bleed so freely.

"What about you?"

'Use the magic,' Artemis urged. 'You're already questioning whether or not the doctors are real, why are you questioning something that's a part of your body now? Just reach back and feel the scars--you've been glowing since Schuldig started chasing you.'
"I'll watch over you two until morning," Sean said, ignoring Artemis. There were a few things he could reasonably accept. The existence of magic, however, was not one of them.
