And here they were again. This was becoming routine. HK headed for the tile he knew hid the way down to the basement, lifting it up and gesturing to it with completely faked politeness. "Deferential: Meatbags first!"

"How kind," the Bride said as HK-47 opened the trapdoor leading to the basement. She wasn't going to stick around to see if Lockdown would argue about heading down.

Touya led the group down into the basement, looking around briefly with his flashlight. It didn't look like anything was here--and what would be, really? Seemed like a terrible place to lie in wait for victims. It was cold, after all.

The trapdoor had already been opened. He moved over to it, looking down into it. "Looks clear. Let's go."

As soon as Yue walked into the cafeteria, Sakura tried to double check to see if Yue was okay. Unfortunately, she was quickly hurried along by the three boys. She knew time was of the essence, but couldn't they just stop for a moment?

However, the refrigerator was probably not the preferable place to stop, so Sakura continued to allow herself to be guided forward.

Reflexively, Abe wrapped an arm around himself as he entered what was apparently some sort of refrigeration unit. The cold air didn't feel as bad on his skin as it would to his normal form--it didn't hurt that his previous exertion had made him sweat and heat up, a strange feeling in itself. Human biology was so peculiar in the littlest of its details.

"They'll have gone somewhere," he muttered to Scar, sweeping his flashlight along the length of the walls. "So there must be a hidden door in here somewhere." Another psychic reading would be their last option rather than their first, thanks.

Scar shuddered as he followed Abe into the next area, deciding that he wasn't quite fond of the cold air. A single glance around told him this was apparently some place where they kept food. Why humans would decide to keep it in such a cold place was beyond him, however. Probably something along the lines of 'typical human habit', and he didn't consider it worth it to ponder about it any longer.

Especially not when there was a secret door to be found, which could be the only reason why others would move into this area to begin with. There was a lack of anything else that could possibly be as interesting after all ( ... )

'Almost' became 'here' as the four entered the refrigeration unit. Once again, the entry to the basement laid bare, marking this the second time they managed to a secret area without effort. It was laughable.

Nigredo glanced at his brother, hand still clutching. His eyes pleaded. {Not the same door.}

Almost where, David wanted to ask. They were in a goddamn kitchen. There weren't too many places to go from here. But he decided to keep that quiet for fear of sparking any more delusions. It was now painfully apparent that his grip on reality wasn't as strong as he'd assumed it to be, so he couldn't exactly verify that he was "okay." What the hell had triggered that and why did it seem okay now? Maybe it was just that particular room since the cafeteria and kitchen weren't war zone reenactments so far ( ... )

The reactions were almost textbook, in the way a normal human would (should?) react. Fear from the girl, denial from the male, and from his own sibling? A touch of anxiety to round things off. Albedo, however, was touching on calm. He was comfortable, at ease. And more of; almost uncontrollably amused ( ... )
