Although imagination was pretty powerful, and the actual comments about monsters (and that weird laugh from overhead) had been disturbing, Usopp had to admit to himself that he hadn't personally seen anything bad yet. Unless he counted some of the weird people he'd seen as the Sun Room got crowded, but that would make sense even if it were an insane asylum.
Not that it could be, what with the evil voice and all. But maybe it was a different kind of crazy or evil. Maybe it was trying to scare him so he'd make a mistake and they could--something.
They'd already stolen all of Usopp's stuff, that alone was pretty evil. A lot of it could be replaced or rebuilt, but the Skypiea dials weren't going to be replaced anytime soon. Even on the tiny chance they visited another sky island, and that was pretty tiny, with Usopp's luck they'd all be really tough traders instead and--well, he didn't need the metal plating for Merry anymore, so he could steal some of Franky's resources to trade, then pay him back later. It would beat a loan from Nami, at least.
And if Simon turned out to be a werewolf or surprise attack ninja monster or something, Usopp would just have to run from that when he faced it.
