Night 45: Main Hallway, 1-West

Once away from the safety of the patient block, Momo slowed down as she traveled along the left hand wall to cover her blind spot. In this position, she could easily draw her sword and deal with issues as they arose. Hopefully, there would be none.

Momo had too much on her mind to want to deal with anything she didn't have to.

Once Tyki reached the main hallway, he paused. He could easily reach the second floor from here, but he didn't quite feel like heading there again. Perhaps the doctor's offices for some cigarettes then? Cheating Boy A obviously wasn't going to get him those seven packages anymore. The basement he had heard about could work as well, he guessed.

As he considered his options, he swept the beam of his flashlight around the place before he noticed someone. His lips twisted into a smirk when he recognized who it was. His interest caught, he casually approached her as if he was approaching an acquaintance rather than an enemy. Well, at least no one could blame him for hiding his presence or anything.

"Fancy running into you here, Miss Shinigami," he greeted, almost politely. He might not intend to fight with his injuries like this, but that didn't mean he couldn't play around a bit. "How's your eye?"

Momo stopped when she saw Tyki, her hand straying up to the hilt of her sword as it lay across her back. She did not draw it, though, as she remembered how futile a blade had been for Signum.

"Tyki," Momo replied, forgoing any honorific, on the watch for any quick movements. So far, it didn't seem like the Noah was going to attack her, but that didn't mean he wouldn't. He had been rather relaxed when they met last time.

"My eye is as fine as it can be. Why do you ask?"

The reaction was no surprise, but Tyki's smirk still widened slightly when the girl reached for the hilt of her sword. An amused chuckle escaped his throat as he watched her with amusement.

"Curiosity, I guess. Or maybe a little concern, who knows?" the Noah answered, titling his head slightly. He inhaled from his cigarette once more. "Killing you will be kinda difficult when you're already a corpse, no?"

"I'm touched by your concern. Though, I've died three times already," Momo pointed out. "What makes you think you it'll stick?"

Her eyes moved over the Noah, noting his status and the way he was moving. He was injured. She wasn't sure how injured, but maybe it was enough to keep him from forcing confrontation. She had no qualms setting him on fire again.

Three times, huh? Tyki laughed at her claim, but not necessarily because he didn't believe it. Lots of strange people here after all, and they were talking about a Shinigami - a Death God - here weren't they? That, or she was ridiculously persistent. Whatever it was, it'd be fun.

"Is that so? I suppose that means I'd get to kill you over and over again," he commented. It'd sure be interesting to see how often she'd have to be killed before she'd stay dead.

"If only Lady Knight had been so persistent, huh? I'm sure your friend made a good meat shield when she still lived."

Momo's eyes narrowed. Tyki was treading on dangerous ground, but the shinigami refused to rise to the bait.

"She made her choice and died with honor, something I am sure you do not understand," Momo replied. "She was a knight until the end. And then some."

"I guess I don't," Tyki admitted with a shrug. How could he? He was no knight, and he didn't care to be one. Hell no. "But I do understand something else; she wouldn't have died if you hadn't brought her along, you know? And that little sacrifice will be in vain as soon as I kill you, Miss Shinigami."

He titled his head as he pointed that out, but made no move to attack. Instead he continued to watch her with amusement for a moment. "Sure had been an amusing try though."

"It was her choice to accompany me. Despite the outcome, I respect her decision. And I respect her sacrifice," Momo replied. "You are simply lucky I am forgoing revenge, but do not make the mistake in forgetting that I will defend myself."

The shinigami's eyes flashed a bit with an otherworldly quality. "You are rather flammable, if I recall correctly."

"I'm lucky you're forgoing revenge?" Tyki repeated, and then he laughed. "How funny that you would say something like that. Did you forget or something? You're no better than me, are you?" He smiled. "Didn't you say you'd take responsibility or something?"

As for the fact about being flammable...people did seem to have a liking to frying him in this place. "So it would seem. But the same trick doesn't always work twice, you know? You think I'd stand still and watch?"

He was much, but not stupid.

"There is a difference between taking responsibility and willingly laying down one's life in penance. If it hadn't been me, another would have killed her here in due time for her acts - a warning she'd been issued and blatantly ignored," Momo replied.

She was of the mind to point out that, yes, he would stand still and watch should she set him on fire because he would be incapable of moving. A shinigami's bind held the soul, not the body; he would be vulnerable. Instead, she responded with, "Do you really think I would use the same trick, as you put it?"

Her hand dropped from her sword. "I warn you now, Tyki Mikk - I am not the same woman you saw before. Think carefully before you next choose to act against me."

The fact that Rhode had ignored such warnings was no surprise at all. Most of the Noah were bad at heeding warnings, but Rhode in particular wasn't always one to do whatever someone said. Not that Tyki Mikk was any better himself.

"Ooh, scary!" the Noah answered, though the tone implied otherwise. In fact, a little challenge only made the game more exciting. Where was the fun in killing people that dropped dead immediately? Or people that wanted to die? "Don't disappoint me when that time comes, alright?"

How predictable of a response. Clearly the Noah lacked a survival instinct. Momo was a death god, who was no longer emotionally broken.

"Do not expect me to spare your life then," she replied. "If death is what you seek, then death is what you will get."

She did not want to kill Tyki, but if he was intent on her life and Momo found it in danger, she would not hesitate. She just wouldn't use Hakufuku.

"You sure sound confident," the Noah answered, still amused. "Heh. You almost make it sound like I have a death wish or something." His words were spoken pretty lightly, as if he didn't take her completely serious. Which he didn't. He just hoped she'd provide some entertainment before dying. He was, after all, the Noah of Pleasure.

He discarded some ash from his cigarette. "Ah well, I guess we'll see who ends up killing who, hmm?"

"Apparently you do; I am shinigami," Momo replied. She was Death.

"I already know the outcome. Do not throw yours away foolishly." She gave a bit of a chuckle. "I am sure there is someone out there that actually wants to kill you."

Tyki laughed in response. Not an insane-sounding laugh, but one as if the shinigami had told a good joke.

"First come, first serve, right?" he answered, before continuing almost innocently: "Did you already know the outcome of our previous encounter too?"

Momo couldn't hide the brief flinch at that question.

"No, but I will not allow others to be present next time."
