[from here]Sheena moved quickly down the hall, hoping that whatever was back in the previous hall didn't follow her. Still, she had to keep tabs on the state of her leg. It was healed, yes, but she could still feel the injury deep in the muscle tissue. Perhaps she would not run into another monster anytime soon

Whatever it was, it cut dry and neat, almost like…
Tsubaki dug in hard with her boots, taking off in the same direction as Sora and Hokuto. There had to be a limit to this thing; Sora’s disappearance past the thick, slithering veil some distance ahead made her think as much. She brought her hand scythe down one last time as soon as she was close enough, widening the escape route briefly.
And then she was pulling free of the grasping tendrils, coming to a stop in a hall that was both cool and quiet. A tangible pressure lifted off of her soul at once. That hadn’t just been physically stifling, but the essence, too, had been menacing… It hadn’t wanted to let them go. Panting softly, Tsubaki cast one look behind her before seeking out her companions. “Is everyone all right?” was the much needed question. For now, it didn’t look like whatever that’d been was in pursuit. Yet.

When she'd managed to relax the slightest bit, she asked Tsubaki, "How did you do that? Actually... what did you do?" She recognized a scythe when she saw one, but keeping it in her hair? Or,less likely, forming it out of her hair? That was a new one even on her.

Besides, there was the matter of what Tsubaki had done back there that they needed to address, and Sora was glad when Hokuto took the initiative in asking the other girl about it. He nodded to her to indicate that he was all right before sending her a questioning glance of his own.
He had to admit, he was really curious, and he did his best to hide that as he waited for her answer. He knew now wasn't really the best time to be asking her about what she could do, but it would be pretty weird to just leave that hanging, right?

In walking, the slightest bit of music came from her chain links, and she looked down at the wickedly sharp blade they attached to. It was safe to say neither Sora nor Hokuto had met a demon weapon by their reactions; Tsubaki found it less and less practical to expect otherwise in a place where dozens, maybe hundreds, of different life experiences came to converge.
Because it was nightshift, there was little opportunity to talk in detail, but the half-smile she gave had an element of self-consciousness to it. “Basically,” came her answer, “a kind of transformation. It’s what bit of ability I still have at nights. I can call on this hand scythe at will.” Basically. If that had really been hair back there, her weapon probably seem just as strange, since with time it‘d be obvious that the length of chain attached to the scythe was ultimately attached to her, too, through the tip of her ponytail.

She also wondered what the girl usually transformed into, but for now she figured she should keep to one question at a time--they did have somewhere to be.

"That's really neat! I can kind of do the same thing, but with a different sort of weapon." His Keyblade, when in the simple Kingdom Key form, didn't really look as impressive as the scythe that Tsubaki was holding. With a keychain equipped it became a lot more flashy, but that was besides the point here at Landel's. "It only comes out when I'm in immediate danger, though..." It seemed that the way powers were limited could vary, then.
He raised an eyebrow when Hokuto started messing with Tsubaki's hair, and that was when he realized for certain that the weapon was attached to her. Almost like Allen and his claw-arm, though Sora wasn't one to judge.
"I guess we'd better hurry up," he stated as he took on the leader role once again. "Do you guys know where the kitchen is from here?" He had a vague idea, but he figured it would be best to ask before making any uninformed decisions.

Because Sora was from a different place entirely, Tsubaki couldn’t say what she knew was comparable, but there were all sorts of ways that was possible. And better than no weapon at all.
Nevertheless, she sincerely hoped Sora’s powers didn’t have an excuse to manifest themselves as they went on.
“I’m pretty sure the only way in is to go through the patio up ahead,” Tsubaki eventually said to the boy’s question, because head on they would. Mission or no mission, it’d be unwise to turn back and risk that threat a second time.

She just nodded, a little too quickly, at the mention of the patio; there was no way she would agree to turn around, or even linger here, without a damn good reason. She trusted Sora, of course, but... "Ready to go if you guys are."

The patio, huh? Sora remembered going there before, but he hadn't known that it led into the kitchen. Still, he trusted Tsubaki, and so he didn't hesitate to lead them further down the hall. He knew that he needed to set these paths to memory so that he didn't have to keep turning to others for help with directions. It was kind of embarrassing.
Either way, he was glad to be putting more distance between them and whatever had been trying to trap them. No one seemed to have taken any lasting damage, which he was grateful for. Hopefully he could give Hitsugaya a good report tomorrow!
Reaching the door at the end of the hall, he opened it and led them out.
