Hmph. At least most of the offerings for dinner were far superior to that greasy swill for lunch. Although, what difference did it make whether it was a "brownie" or a "double-fudge brownie?" von Karma was still going to give it to his roommate, as though he were tossing a worthless food scrap to a dog.

He looked over at his roommate, who was still fast asleep. The man had now been asleep for three whole days. Unacceptable! The nurse had to have been lying to the prosecutor this morning. Treatment side effects or no, Mr. Hamilton should have stirred at least once.

But for now, von Karma had more important things to ponder. As he methodically cut up the chicken, he reviewed his plans for tomorrow night: meeting the foolish Mr. Oland to head up to the Patient Possessions Storage room. At least the man seemed useful enough as a guard... which the elder prosecutor might well need for his trip upstairs.

Certainly, it was imperative that he and Mr. Oland make it up there as quickly as possible. He somewhat regretted the delay, even though he needed the extra time to fully ascertain the "corporal's" worthiness. According to the note posted to the bulletin board just prior to dinner shift, there were thieves planning to ransack that room tonight. Never mind that the items in "Mr. Fuchs'" box were most likely useless... he would be damned if anyone else rifled through his belongings! Oh yes, there would be hell to pay should he discover that had happened.
